Thanks, Pete, the order came through but I did send you a follow-up email. I passed Numedia on several trips with the family to see a college friend of my wife's up near Sayre, but never was there on a day when the rubber was burnin.' Looks like a GREAT location to shoot photos, though.

Petey old pal, I miss hanging out with you hobos. I got an e-mail from Stiff around the holidays. He was still in serious pain over the election results but said he was working steady in Las Vegas. That is an odd place for a worn out hobo.

Jackie, you sure have a nice tan for this time of the year!

I retrieved a couple more jars of Idaho Gold [TM] from my stash down by the malting plant old Budweiser was nice enough to build a couple of miles from my wifes home in Idaho Falls. I am intrusting them to Tramp and San for proper disposal!

My favorite car for this year will be the Old #7 that Dave Blaney will be driving for RCR. It's a all black car and I saw a picture of it on his web site and it sure looks good. I have been watching Dave's career since he was driveing the World of Outlaw sprint cars. They use the methane too. Once it gets in your blood it stays there.

JP, I hope Blaney gets some hot laps in, but, at the risk of taking this discussion down a sidetrack, I'm for anyone in a Dodge - I like Newman the most, but I think Kasey Kahne will be pulling some fast ones this year if NASCAR doesn't pencil the Chargers after they did so well in testing.

I always wondered if most train guys were car guys, too. I saw my first Hemi car years ago because of a Lionel train deal. Are we all just big kids or what...

Daisy, never tasted one myself, but I hear the banana moonpies are the sweetest. Might want to wrap your lips around one of those!

I like cars that drive you down highways to diners, across the state line, across low hills with horses grazing and up into the desert and down the Mohawk trail in the spring thaw. I like cars that I drive for a few hours and then you do, old ones with nice lines and am radios. I like cars that drive you where you’ve never been before. Cars with pretty colored lights glowing from the gauges at night, or maybe no lights at all so it's pitch dark and quiet. I like cars that break down and we’ve got to stay in some old town in Virginia for the night while they wait for another alternator. I like cars with V8s.

When I worked at the Harley shop in Houston this was my boss's baby, a twin engine nitro fueler.

Johnny Mancuso? I did some PR photos for him when I worked for IHRA. These fuel Harley guys are crazy; 220 mph in the lights, front wheel hiked up to 660 feet, and laying over the equivelent of a satchel bomb all the way down the track. Truly the quick and the dead in that class. I watched a guy named Russell come through the top end of the track at Bradenton Florida one afternoon get a little out of shape; he ground the end off of a steel-toed boot trying to keep the bike from falling over or hitting the razor-blade Armco at speed - his sock was smoking...
