The title of this thread causes me to dwell on the realities of said statement.

While it is probably true, given the small sliver of items we see.....if you take an arbitrary starting point and extend to this day.

I was perusing a OLD RMC this morning. About 20 years old.

Just in Half Zero, looked at the price of brass, and my data point on the graph, if you extend backwards from the arbitrary starting point 20 years, seems to strongly indicate buying and selling brass is NOT a good way to make money.

To paraphrase an old saying, "You know how to end up with $1,000 selling brass?"
"Start with $10,000 of brass and wait 20 years.

Couldn't ever get into that. Had offers to buy, some really good offers.....but, no.

The best thing is, the scrap value of brass is good.

Take it for a certainty that there are SOME people who do just that.

I've seen it more often stated: "If you want to make a small fortune importing brass, start with a large one."

Considering the price of MMW's bethgon ($600 a pop) it's going to become a bit harder (for re-sellers) to do so. There were people talking about buying 100 of them on the other Forum. More power to them if they have that kind of loot!
