And, I still have mine,  Never play it though - don't have a system worth the time to pull it from storage.

Worth some coin, I suspect.

Maybe, as it has the full book inside that the original issued vinyl included. There's 600+ vinyl stored away......just never had the heart to trash them. Did convert a good number of the ones that I've not seen as CRs over to electronic files.

Don’t chuck them, as vinyl’s all the rage these days, especially if you have records that never made it over to a CD format.

Big Jim wrote:If you had watched the program on PBS about the making of the recording "Classic Quadrophenia", you would have heard Pete Townshend say that "Quadrophenia" (the original) was not about four channel sound at all. It was about the boy suffering from an affliction similar to being "double bi-polar", hence the "quad".
The show also explained why the "Classic Quadrophenia" was recorded without drums, only timpani.

Thematically, I would agree with all of that, although Townsend reportedly said he wanted it recorded quadrophonically but that the tech wasn’t up to it. So now, based on what I’ve read on a couple of the audiophile sites, I’m not sure if there ever was a quadrophonic version in vinyl. However, I do recall going to one of the shows during the tour, and hearing Townsend shouting out that the show featured quadrophonic sound. Who knows, lots of mythology wrapped around it, I guess.

It’s a good record, regardless, but maybe not as good as Tommy and Who’s Next.
