This has been stated here before and in many places - No vaccine is 100% perfect. No drug is 100% perfect. If you're going to continue to desperately look for imperfection, you are going to find it.

Almost nonsense. Vaccinated individuals on very very very rare occasions will be hospitalized and on equally rare occasions will have enough virus to infect non-vaccinated people.

Is this at all like the almost (?) eradication of small pox, polio and a few others?
Can/will there be a time when it will not be a big problem?
There are at least two posters here who should have a better knowledge about
this and be able to explain in terms that most will understand and leave out
that stuff that keeps politicians happy.

Disease do not go away; our susceptiblity to them goes to near zero with preventative actions such as vaccinations

Can/will there be a time when it will not be a big problem?

Probably and possibly with adequate vaccination could be reduced to be in a category approximating influenza

However, not unlike influenza viruses mutate and new vaccines may become necessary.

Rufus,
Thank you and see how few words it took for an easy to understand answer.

Some viruses mutate more than others. Smallpox and polio do not mutate much so eradication has been a simple problem at least in terms of the science. In the future it may be possible that vaccines for influenza and coronavirus can be manufactured that will make the diseases extinct, But the path forward scientifically is not yet clear

Yes, and what we have now is pretty effective.

It probably has less to do with campfires and more to do with poorly managed forests. Although you’d wonder why a camper would risk a campfire in a tinder box. Rarely do you hear of these fires anywhere else in the country.

Really? Colorado was hit with some of the largest in state history just last year - over 500,000 acres burned by just 3 fires. Smoke was so bad that it was affecting people in Denver.

Arizona had better than 700,000 acres burned by ~ 1600 fires in 2020.......another record setting year.....

New Mexico had their share in 2020 as well....

Maryland got off light last year - only 76 fires and just over 1400 acres burnt.

Poorly managed forests - funniest excuse ever. Generally used by elitists that have never actually been in a real forest. They naturally have these things we call trees and brush and underbrush in them. They don't have maids sweeping and vacuuming everything up.

Forestry expert too? I’m sure you had to google the stats you posted. My point was they predominantly happen in California as opposed to other parts of the country.

You’ll continue to hear about ‘variants’ just in case you get out of line. They want you know they can shut it down any time they want. More likely to see ‘lethal variants’ as we get closer to the election.

If you want decisions made by people who are complete ignoramuses you’re welcome to that world. I wouldn’t want to live in it. You are worrying about stuff that is entirely imaginary.

Yep, I’d feel much more comfortable with someone like you making decisions for us.
