I assume that "Over There" as used in the title of this topic refers to the OGR forum.
Why do we not say OGR? It doesn't seem to be a sin on MTJ to name another forum.

No idea, Roger, no idea. Cleverness and cuteness?

The answer to the location "over there" question is right here in this thread.....if you read.

Blame it on Turner!

It's (the one over on NK) a thread about selective amnesia.

An actual OGR thread title: What would you like your trains to do that they don't do right now.

My answer: Print money. Duh.

The topics that really leave me cold are the "perpetual" ones like:

"What did you do on your layout today?"

I have long been tempted to answer: "Crawled up on it and took a crap>"

I understand the idea of relating facts about certain builds or projects, but spare me the drivel about everyday ordinary stuff.

I agree, my "favorite" is "What do you wish you could buy today?" cue barfing noise
Uh........Time Machine? Cure for the illness that killed my good friend?... parent?.... beloved pet?.....uh huh

It is pathetic but this is where our society is, you could characterize it as weak minded people seeking self-validation via social media,
or put another way; once you're an adult, you don't get a trophy for losing (and I'm so butt hurt about it.)

Or, see it as just an extended form of interactive small talk, I tend to side with the latter just because I don't want be that cranky old guy,
even though I am.

I don't care what they yak about. I am just appalled that they have to run home to mommy when someone discusses something they are not interested in reading.

I rarely open threads that start with "what did you do today" or "does anybody model the ---rr?"

Hummel did get his shelf couplers and switch stands. Now we await MMW deliveries.

A lot of petulance over there. What intrigues me most is the number of 3 railers over there that get all whacked out over "mistakes" on what are essentially toys as opposed to models. Some of these folks need to think about going over to 2 rail.

It be interesting to know if the decision to produce shelf couplers proves to be a good one financially. Hummel was the only guy that I ever heard of that asked for them!

As for MMW, they have managed to avoid the ire directed at GK. Will be interesting to see much longer before they who have orders get restless.

Nah, they need to go to something like lepidopterology.....

One wonders, yes, how that is working out - must be working for Hummel as he's been very quiet,

How could they ever get restless waiting for the greatest model ever made?

If this greatest model is ever made, how long will it take them to find something wrong with it?

You support thread drift? They just locked a thread that drifted from smoke effects to battery power. No politics, no personal attacks, just a polite discussion about what should next come from manufacturers.

"You must sit in your seat and do exactly as you are told" - that's from an old airline joke.

Bob,
IMO every normal conversation drifts off topic except in formal debates. That does NOT include presidential or most political debates.
They don't seem to follow any rules.

It's a privately owned forum and they are well within their rights. Doesn't have a bloody thing to do with freedom of speech.

As for thread drift, you can stick it up your rosy red rectum. Just causes confusion, and makes it difficult to follow and locate things. (opinion)

If there are 400 different topics in a thread, it is nothing more than a MESS!

Maybe that is why so few post here.

This whole thread should be hammered.....doesn't have anything to do with 2 rail!
