Depending on your political affiliation or your feelings about the direction of this country, it would either be the best or worst choice the Dems could make. I truly believe she would win. She has most of the black vote, most of the woman vote and most likely even some of the woosie votes too.

Win, possibly, but could she govern ?

And there's the real problem, for whatever reason it seems that this country still wants to elect seniors that at times seem on the edge of dementia or with pre-AD.

Now that you have mentioned the possibility of dementia in elected leaders, my wife and I are beginning to wonder about Trump. Have you been taking note of the recent fuss between him and President Macron of France? President Trump had the bad manners and uncommon indecency to make a loud point about the role American soldiers played in helping save France from the grip of the nazis . Could it get more low-class than Trump's saying that so loudly? Did he think everybody in the entire world wasn't already aware of such a fact?

Crude . Vulgar . Ill-mannered. Boor. He's an embarrassment .

That's his normal baseline behavior.

Truly. Good point. Plus, there's that hair, symbol of it all, it's become.

President Macron of France recently stated he wants to build a European military so they can protect themselves from Russia, China and the United States. "From the United States".

French president Emmanuel Macron has been hit with his lowest ever approval rating as his popularity continues to tumble.

Only 29 per cent of French citizens surveyed in September said they were satisfied with Mr Macron, according to a new Ifop poll – the lowest figure recorded by the firm during his presidency.

Donald Trump's Presidential Job Approval Ratings is presently at 38 per cent.

The Unemployment rate rate in France is presently 9.3% (Aug 2018)

And the best part. Europe is dependent on Russia for it's oil and Gas.

Around 35,000 active-duty U.S. troops were stationed in Germany last year.

Not quite true. France is 80% nuclear. Much of the rest is dependent on the Middle East..... Eastern Europe still is....

Yes..........protecting who from what and why? The US spends how much on this??

I think trump wants other world leaders to pay up for US. troops. This is probably why they all hate him. He's telling these people no free rides or partial payments. So they start a fight with him and the media says "He is delusional. See how he treats other leaders " It becomes a standoff to see who moves first. Do they pay us or do we pull troops out. What's cost effective? Stay at a reduced rate ? or bring the whole shabang home ?
Maybe Mark zucerburg or Mark Cuban will run.

I'm not sure that they are entirely free rides and I suspect there is a lot of misinformation in play.

So they start a fight with him

I think you may have that reversed,

and the media says "He is delusional. See how he treats other leaders "

It's not the objective but the means - he could do this better and probably more successfully without acting the total arse....and that's what the real objections are made to - the great deal maker.......

I'm not sure that they might see our departing as a win.

Zuck?               He couldn't handle himself in front of Congress with a crap - anybody out on the campaign would tear him to shreds. Cuban is something else, but I think also smart enough not to paint a target on his own back in a battle he can't afford.

Macron’s France: where now for nuclear power?
https://www.power-technology.com/featur ... r-5905019/

French President Emmanuel Macron’s election campaign included a promise to cut nuclear power generation from 72% to 50% by 2025. France has 58 power reactors.

Nuclear Power in Germany. Germany until March 2011 obtained one-quarter of its electricity from nuclear energy, using 17 reactors. The figure is now about 12% from seven reactors, while 42% of electricity comes from coal, the majority of that from lignite.

And we already had the discussion about the 2 new Gazprom pipelines from Russia direct to Germany through the Baltic Sea

Russia’s gas exports to Europe rise to record high

State-run Gazprom supplies close to 40 per cent of Europe’s supply

Good question I would like to know the answer also. It all comes down to us being the world police force. I'm sure the money spent could be put to better use helping the poor people in this country....

Germany is a stop off point to the middle east. plus the us military has an agreement with the Czech republic. If they ever get the slovak republic to give the same agreement. Then they would have a walking route to the Ukraine. This is probably why Germany wont buck up and pay more monies. They know it fits the USA military agenda to be there. The biggest sticking point is Solvakia saying Don't attack the Ukraine through us.
Maybe Lebron james will run. He has about 2 more years of basketball left in him.

I don't think we, as a country, really care about the "poor" people in this country but it looks good on paper.
Yes , of course, many do but not enough. Do you really think all of the high monied people that "give away"
their money to various charities that they usually start becom poor? They don't seem to be any worse off
than before they gave away their money.
Now jump all over this and beat it to death.

I support thread drift.
