Certain level of insanity there yet hasn't everyone at some time or another just wanted to rip through a caravan out on the open road that's been clogging up the highway,

When I was quite a bit younger I routinely looked down my nose at the Winnebago crowd, preferring just a sleeping bag and a rip-stock nylon tent. Now, as I get older, the travel-trailer/motor-home approach looks quite a bit more appealing, lol.

This old A turned up at an event in Taneytown over the weekend:

By the looks of it, I'd estimate it weighs a few hundred pounds more than it should for the liberal use of Bondo in making bodywork repairs. Still, he/she was out and about, while the Sprite sits in the garage with a coolant leak issue.

I do feel a bit better about my door-gap issues though...

This is the last known official photo shoot of James Dean before his death which occurred later this same day in 1955. Here he sits in the infamous Porsche 550 Spyder he named “Little ******”.

One of the creepy tales surrounding Dean and his deathmobile, is when he met up with actor Alec Guinness (Obi-Wan Kebobi) to show it off and Guinness told Dean then and there he thought the car had a “sinister” appearance. He went on to tell Dean: “If you get in that car, you will be found dead in it by this time next week.” Seven days later, Dean was killed in his beloved “Little ******.” And it doesn’t stop there, this Porsche is believed to be cursed because after killing James Dean, but it’s killed and maimed others who came in contact with it over the years!

Looks like he's already punched out a turn signal. Who are those annoying pigs right on his bumper?

Looks like they're parked.

I had the pleasure of driving a 550 once. Despite its reputation, the car had what seemed to be remarkable stability and adhesion characteristics. Of course, a combination of high speed, loose gravel, wet pavement, etc., can overcome the best-handling vehicle (not to mention moronic drivers).

I wondered who they were, too, since their close proximity suggested, to me, aggressiveness. However, upon further reflection, I wondered if it were possible that they were his entourage, and that an occupant from that car behind him is sitting next to Dean with their hands clasped in a salute to career victory, or at life in general (?)

I wondered if Dean's Porsche needed a push start.

Saw this AM that Sergio Marchionne passed overnight. The guy turned Fiat around, primarily by acquiring Chrysler, than putting the whole mess on the back of Jeep. Other moves include spinning off Ferrari, resurrecting Alfa Romeo and Maserati, and bringing the Fiat brand back to the U.S. While revered by the public and the press, he had a reputation for being a total b@st@rd to work for, but then one would have to be to keep that whole thing moving forward. Mike Manley, the Jeep guy, takes over. Should be interesting...

First new car the wife and I bought was a 65 1/2 Mustang GT. Not the HiPo one. Looked like this one. Bought it from Jack Gosh Ford in Hemet Calif. Jack had been a big wheel at Ford and got some of the best stuff. Car was in the back covered up. Wasn't supposed to be on display until Monday. We bought it Sunday afternoon. $2850 out the door.

Only car that I have sold that I wish I had kept it. :(

Presently this is what I have for a toy. This one will run circles around the 65

Both lovely, albeit the latter looks a bit uncivilized (as in beast).

The latest I hear is the Mustang will be the only "car" manufactured by Ford in a couple of years. Going all in on SUV's and F-series trucks. Brilliant, we'll cede the auto market to the Asians.

Ford is already ~75% sales of trucks and SUV's - moving car manufacturing to countries where cars are being bought.
