I have a hard time watching any "Phantom of the Opera" w/o Lon Chaney....

That's the only one I've seen and it was good. I'm generally not a fan of silent movies, but I've seen several that were very good and didn't need dialog.

Nosferatu, The General, Metropolis (the one with most of the missing footage restored). DFT (Detroit Film Theater at the Art Institute) runs some of these and about once a year they manage to get the Alloy Orchestra to do a live accompaniment. The "Orchestra" is three guys and what looks like a the result of a wreck of a hardware delivery truck and a musical instrument truck.

3 goodies there. I'm partial to Chaplin, Harold Lloyd, and of course Buster Keaton.

Ran Across this on YouTube. Can't believe they made a "REMAKE" of the movie Vacation

The only part I found funny was were the were taking a swim and didn't see the sign.

Checkout the new Family Truckster. It has a YUGO emblem on it and the front end and back end are identical.

Yeah, you really have to wonder why other than the amazing lack of creativity that's resident in libraries the world over. No, let's do ignore the millions of good ideas and re-make............

Of all the movie stars, actors and actresses, world wide, who was your absolute favorite?

Tough call, like Bogart, Connery, Stewart. If I have to pick one, Burt Lancaster.

Gregory Peck, Kirk Douglas, Orson Welles, and a host of others rank up there and all of the great comedians, because comedy is hard --> Chaplin, Keaton, Lloyd, Laurel & Hardy, Gene Wilder, etc. I can't name a single absolute as we have so many great performances and performers over 100+ years.

Hepburn, Hepburn, Bergman, de Havilland, Loren, Bacall, O'Hara, but again too many memorable ones to name just one

Yep, this is a tough or impossible call. We had a lot of great stars in the "classic" era.

Spencer Tracy, Cary Grant, Ronald Colman, John and Lionel Barrymore, William Powell, Myrna Loy, Jean Arthur, Greer Garson, Ethel Barrymore and a host of others can be added to the list. All these performers are fun and easy to watch.
