$101.50 per bridge for the two most expensive lots,

Sure those were not a bad deal, but the buyers of those last two lots still ended up paying 50% more than did the buyer of the first lot!

Stuff like that happens at auctions.....people get caught up in the moment, lose control & perspective, and spend, spend, spend...

I noticed that Part 5 had been posted when my feebay saved searches were suddenly polluted with $10 "part of a live auction event" listings.

I'm currently watching the Part 5 auction, laughing each time I lose an auction -- usually, the winning bid is about 10 times more that I offered! I figure it makes no sense to up a bid against a bid from the floor since the in-person bidders are buying to resell on ebay.

The surprise of the day (so far) is this lot of six passenger cars that went for $1,200:
Lot 84: Six O scale two rail CB&Q / Burlington passenger cars instruction observation, and more
Any guesses why several bidders saw that value in those cars? They don't appear to be brass -- are some of them Joe Fisher cars?

They look like PSC, as some seem NOT to have interiors, but it's hard to tell from the pics!

IIRC, floor bidders ran up the price of that lot, so the cars probably were PSC -- floor bidders could see the lot for themselves, so I presume they were making informed bids.
