Back at it...
Roger/Rogruth asked me to post photos of my layout, once again, so even though it is largely settled into its final - yes, the final - iteration, I have recently been getting it ready to receive guests this Summer, so I've been adjusting and adding a few details, as well as dusting every inch and every feature of it, particularly in this transitional section connecting the original layout (off to the left in both these perspectives) to the new room extension which carved an 8'x22' portion off the in-ground garage.
I am hoping you might enjoy these views and perhaps be interested in sharing some views of your scenery, especially if you've had occasion to tweak it recently...

Not to be nit picky, but either the second photo is upside down or you have found a way to hang some of the layout from the ceiling.
And before I forget, I have always enjoyed seeing pictures of your layout.
I still have all the photos that you sent me when you first started posting years ago.

In another thread, we learned that Murph the Bat likes to hang upside down. The picture is correct if you do the same when looking at it.
The picture is too big to fit our 850-pixel width limitation on MTJ. Maybe it should be posted one 850 pixel slice at a time?

Re: Back at it...
As happened with that previous porch photo on another thread, some of the photos taken and stored on my iPhone seem to turn out upside down when I send them to post to this forum. I have no idea why. So, when I discover that has happened, as here again, I save (right-click) it from here, delete the screwy one, and re-post it hoping the copy I saved in my "Pictures" folder on my laptop will be upright, as worked out here.

Thanks for telling me that, Robert. My enjoyment of our hobby has shifted from enjoying the creative aspect of crafting a layout to sharing it with others.
Re: Back at it...
Thank you for reposting these Murph. I don't think I have ever seen the photos so large.
Another nice slice of Murph's layout...

No, I loved the large post. When shown full size on my screen I could scroll around looking at little bits of detail. It was like being there in person. Big is good.

Oh. I didn't understand. I thought you were saying that as large as I had posted it created an inconvenience: "The picture is too big to fit our 850pixel width...".

Re: Back at it...
My little street-fair near that church and parsonage is one of my favorite uses of available spaces on the entire layout, if I may say so, frankly. Also, the fair gave me plenty of opportunity to display items I had no good reason to have purchased other than that I just had to have them....

Beautiful work, love the details. Lady bending down to talk to the child, Boy Scouts with the 4x8 plywood layout, popcorn stand. Outstanding!

Re: Back at it...
Very , very good to hear from you, Chuck, about my layout. You are always a positive presence here on MTJ , so it's especially nice to have your approval and notice of details.
One of the aspects of our hobby that I much enjoy is seeing everybody's creativity. The sizes of layouts are almost a negligible feature to me, compared to how a layout demonstrates that its owner has been having fun. It's so obvious layout makers and enthusiasts are having a real good time of it, noticing things in life around them, having us notice their interpretation of life's details on a layout, and making things. Putting a layout into existence is a kind of "birthing" investment of oneself , eager for the process and joyful at the outcome. There is always something to learn, change, and grow along the way, and somehow, the result is a bit different than planned. It may be a kind of work, at times, but the satisfaction is worth it all. IMO .

I liked the Boy Scout Layout also.
It is outside the range of focus Murph. Please consider photographing it again as the center of focus and posting it to this thread.

Re: Back at it...
I think I can help with your upside down photo. When using an iPhone as a camera you need to let it adjust to how it's held. Look to the left of your shutter button. Do you see a camera icon? Turn your phone 90% and watch that icon rotate. It will be a second or 2 after your phone rotates. If this icon is set to not move you will have a phone that works like a real film camera.( holding your I phone upside down will result in an upside down print of your photo) if said icon is set to rotate you will always get an up right photo. No matter how you hold your phone. Confused? Ask one of those kids you tutor.
