Same 2-5" followed by sleezle called for here. The snow falls just like it did in February, but still glad to see February gone. We broke the recorded records for the coldest February both in daytime highs and in mean temps here.
Your robins are all here, though, probably by the hundreds at this point. They seem to either be incredibly stupidly optimistic still or they know something we don't but would like to see happen. The drive was absolutely red with holly berries, and the robins would follow the Mini as I went down the drive to the street picking up the newly crushed berries left in my wake. It somehow reminded me of seagulls following the ship back in my days as a merchant seaman.
I have to say I've been in a bit of a funk, though coming back out of it. We lost our old gray cat of 19 years on Tuesday; been very tough even though 19 years is a helluva run. The continued snow has added to the wearisome atmosphere. Lucky for me, a cheerful fire in the fireplace always helps, a nice cuppa and Girl Scout cookies for "elevensies", and our two Manx cats and the big ginger tom are very social this morning.
Spring will be all the more sweet when it gets here, but first we must indulge the fifth season for which our area is justly famous. Here we have Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, and Mud.
But you knew that already.
