Minton Cronkhite's EMC switcher pulling Lobough cars

Postby Carey Williams » Tue Jun 30, 2026 5:05 pm

Hello all

Per special trains given by Minton Cronkhite back in May 1964 .... the 2351 diesel will pull an extra passenger train west .... during the run session on the Cambria & Black Mountain layout now in Marion Charles basement ... after he added on 25" to his home to accommodate the layout .

1937 Santa Fe orders 3 N EMC switchers ...Minton has 2 built in Q gauge ... 1939 /40 #2351 runs on the Santa Fe layout at Treasure Island ...then returns to Minton's layout

Twin Q gauge diesel goes to Chicago for MSI layout .... the prototype 2351 ran at the Santa Fe yards in Chicago .

1956 /7 Minton sells/ gives his layout to neighbor Marion Charles ( who began modeling in O scale in 1932 with his LA Jolla & Tijuana RR "The Border Lines" ..layout and equipment are re gauged to O gauge

to see #2351 pulling "Border Lines" passenger cars see link
