I like the 2365 C&O Geep... but $2200 shipping from Canada is a bit steep!

So, having seen these before, I am confused. Two years or so of initial production....no dynamic brake blister, fixed couplers, no snowplows, nor fuel tank...yet this example had operating couplers, snowplows, fuel tank, and dynamic brake blisters.

And lord only knows what that red "W" shaped thing on the beams is.

Could be a 2008 vintage re-make, but again, no dynamics, no snowplows.

And the stainless handrails off each end of the cab.

Adding a fuel tank was common. I've done a bunch over the years.

Any idea what this really is?

I looked. Gonna go out on a limb here, but it appears non of the postwar GP7/9's had snowplows.

You missed one, THE ONE.... The 1965 Sears only 2347 C&O Geep. This one was only in the top of the line Sears set and it had a tank under it unlike the 2365. I have one with a ratty frame. So the 2365 and 2347 look somewhat alike. If I remember the 2365 was molded Blue and the 2347 was painted. Also if I remember right, something like 315 2347's were supposedly made.... 2347 is the Lionel Grail for early GP's.

Oh, yeah, no plows that's for sure on PW Geeps.

That list was to eradicate any possibility of plows I may have missed. How many came with no fuel tanks?
2028 PRR for sure. 2365 C&O for sure.

I was just going by actual Lionel cataloged issues. The 2347 did have fuel tank and cab rails, no snow plow, no dynamics. And operating couplers.

So, back to the original unit in question.
The 2365 shown has an impossible amount of changes for a cataloged 2365. If you figure 2347, closer, but then we're renumbering, and who would take a 2347 and hairball it to the 2365 kluge shown?

I probably got lost where this all started lol But I agree, the two that had no tank didn't come with a horn so were cheapies I guess. I honestly didn't even look at the details, I was shocked by the $2200 shipping that popped up on my screen! I wouldn't pay more than $50 or 75 for a 2365 probably less now as I spend most time looking at prewar and door stops lol.

Highly customized. 95% sure the frame was repainted as well. Just doesn't look right.
