RIP - Ric Ocasek

Postby healey36 » Mon Sep 16, 2019 3:08 pm

Damn, Ric Ocasek has left the building, at 75...didn't realize he'd clocked that many miles. Always admired him for his talent and his choice of women. Figured he was the rock equivalent of Sinatra...very limited range but could phrase a tune like few others...

So long, mate...let the good times roll.

Sad - also never guessed he was that old.

This is just my personal opinion. I thought Benjamin Orr was the better vocalist.

He passed away in 2000 at the age of 53 from pancreatic cancer. :(

Eddie Money must've given Ric his other ticket to paradise.

Forgive me, but I never thought too much of Eddie's skills as a singer. Women seemed to love him though.

He was a phenomenon of the times. A couple of years either way and he probably would have just been another opening act forever playing bars. But some of his songs were well written and catchy. Good writers can work forever....
