Drinking companion? You mean that cat with beer mug you sent me, or Tramp?

Tramp's been kind of listing sideways when he walks but otherwise seems to be running all right. A strange chuffing noise every now and then, and his lights are a bit dim. He's been working too hard lately. Might have to ambush him this afternoon and force him down on the chaise lounge outside.

Jon, I'm at a complete loss as far as the kit is concerned. Why would anyone bid that kind of money for a 65.00 kit? There are so many ways to build the structure for much much less. Is it a collector thing?

Tramp,I could'nt say!!! In any case I love the style of that building!!! I've placed an order for the distressed brick walls, flagstone base, and corrugated roof with Quint of CCCROW:
http://www.cccrow.com/main-pages/scratch-list.html
I'll research the doors and windows this weekend from Grandt Line and purchase the basswood from Hobby Lobby NOT my LHS.
I'll tally up my total when everything is purchased.

Seems like forever since we've just drunk some beer and relaxed. Anyone in for this weekend?

Got a TGAIF beer firmly in hand, and I'm full of anticipation.

Been nasty-ass sick the last 3 days and some good health is germinating, peas and onions are coming up in the garden, I'm waiting on a tube coming in the mail, I'm frantically building a pen because we're getting two baby sheep this weekend because my daughter finally wore me down, and I'm going to spend some time with Miami-Willie on Sunday, who's up visiting! 8)

If I supply the beer, are y'all free some weekend to help me with a barn-raising? I'm pretty sure chickens and a cow will be in my future.

Jon, that building's going to look a shit-load better once you're done with it.

I'm in for a cold beer!!!! :D :D I took off work early to bring my son the the new Spiderman movie. Him and I were first in line for the 12:00 showing with a crowd of people behind us. As things would have it, the ticket computer would'nt take my bankcard, then the system crashed! The manager let all of us standing in line in to see the movie for free!!!! I was cheered by all!!!
I figured out and ordered all the doors and windows for the building. If anyone is interested these are the Grandt Line part numbers:

3609- Engine house doors 1pk
3612- Factory doors 1pk
3705- Engine house Windows 3pks
3718- Small Factory Window 1pk
3621- Freight Door 1pk
3552- Smoke Jack 1pk
You can order these directly from:

Pete, sorry you're down with a grip. Sucks, considering your train schedule. Tube should be there? I sent it 2-day, I think. Sheep? For the kid? Is Dennis coming up again? Give Will my best, please.

Jon, it's like the old days, right?

I say that we should meet at Pete's for the bigggest hobo barn-raising of all time. Anyone else in? I think ours is a 14 hour drive. That's 28 beers. Tough but doable.

Ewes or rams.? I would expect that you have some discernment, Pete.

On this front it was goats (one of those Persian things). I found that if you give them names, you cannot eat them. Fortunately, goats don't like rabbits, and that problem (rabbits eating lawn) was solved (for a while). Goats ate lawn and guarded it. Unfortunately, Rat Terriers don't like goats, and Jackson and Norma (members of our household) really don't like goats. Things really spun out of control for some time. Instruct Leah to call them by species, eg, "lamb 1". "Bamby" doesn't work at all.
