All this "Political Correctness" is for sure political, but the correctness part is a bit suspect.

“Political correctness is America's newest form of intolerance, and it is especially pernicious because it comes disguised as tolerance. It presents itself as fairness, yet attempts to restrict and control people's language with strict codes and rigid rules. I'm not sure that's the way to fight discrimination. I'm not sure silencing people or forcing them to alter their speech is the best method for solving problems that go much deeper than speech.” George Carlin

It's a start, but some good old fashioned flogging afterwards is needed for reinforcement :!:

"Political Correctness" is a label and not a very accurate one. We used to call the behavior self control, politeness, consideration, even civility. My grandmother used to say "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."

No one is requiring anyone to sensor their feelings, beliefs, or opinions. What you do/say/practice in your home is your business. Once you start to act in a public setting you should be taking full ownership/responsibility for those actions and accept any consequences of doing so.

I wonder if anybody on her staff was smart enough to say. "I don't think this black face get up is a good idea"
I spend entirely too many hours a day tying my shoes
