The "little minor aristocrat from an incredibly little country" was the Crown Prince of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Right. And the alliances were what drew everybody into the conflict.

No, I only have a high capacity to recognize total abject stupidity..............but I guess if you eliminate all that then maybe what's left over could be considered? I could not qualify to be an elected dog catcher.......although I did have a fleeting though of school board just to scare the crap out of everyone,

Start with a simple thought - we've never stopped anyone from becoming a nuclear power -- ever. All that hand-wringing is a waste so be resigned to the fact that NK will be a nuclear power and that they will have some delivery means. We lived through the 50's until now with Russian missiles....

We're supposed to have a greatest deal maker ever in the WH. Maybe find out what NK really wants - just ask; might be interesting to have a closed room conversation. Make a frelling deal. Drown them in KFC and Britney Spears.....and every boy band ever.....and deport Rodman there as a special envoy for life.

Not bad and actually very logical. Logic is something sorely missing with the current administration due to Trump. Totally reactionary.

Heard some of the transcripts last night on the news, the Washington Post put out on Trumps calls to the Mexican president a few weeks after taking office. He was trying to make a deal and saying really stupid things, but that doesn't bother me as much as how did the WP get those transcripts? Is nothing sacred? I'm so tired of media leaks about Whitehouse happenings that were never reported in the past. It's bad enough Trump sounds like an idiot just about every time he opens his mouth, we don't need the WP putting out what is supposed to be confidential. Someone needs to reign in those sluts if this administration is going to get anything done. I'd rather not know all the dumb things Trump says.

Apparently, the days of keeping-things-close-to-the-vest are long gone. And forget about keeping one's trap shut. The compulsion to tip-tap every thought onto a keyboard for every soul alive to read is too strong to resist (yes, I appreciate the irony of my saying that, typing it out here   ).Problem is with that, esp. in Trump's case and ours, is that as soon as we see and hear it, so does the rest of the world. And if they are getting/have gotten the impression that we are being led by a socially-clumsy buffoon, how seriously are they going to take us?

Public record. If someone wrote them you can read them. What is there to stop Mexico from turning these over?

I'm afraid they already know and the media sure doesn't help his image. But, he has a war going on with them and they are giving it to him with both barrels. So, I get it, they are just reporting.

But, the leaker needs to be squashed. Always hated tattletales and back stabbers growing up and I don't like them any better now. Someone close to the source is a Benedict Arnold. It would give me great pleasure to wake up some morning and read that Chelsea Manning and Julian Assange were eliminated. What they did caused more harm to the US than good.

For those that don't know, The Washington Post is owned by Jeff Bezos who also owns Amazon. Jeff Bezos is anti Trump and that is why all you see in the post is anti Trump.

Right now they are making a big issue out of Trumps conversations with Australia's prime minister.

I would also be upset with the deal Obama made with Australia to take these refugees that Australia won't let into their country. Read the following and see what you think.
Everything you need to know about the refugee deal Trump raged about to Australia's prime minister
http://www.businessinsider.com/what-is- ... -deal-is-1

But as Turnbull explained, his government has been ironclad in its opposition to resettling the refugees detained on Nauru and Manus Island, arguing that the issue is one of border security.

“It is not because they are bad people. It is because in order to stop people smugglers, we had to deprive them of the product," Turnbull said. "So we said if you try to come to Australia by boat, even if we think you are the best person in the world, even if you are a Nobel Prize-winning genius, we will not let you in."

At first, Trump appeared to understand, saying, “That is a good idea. We should do that too. You are worse than I am," but later asked Turnbull to explain the point again. “What is the thing with boats? Why do you discriminate against boats?" he asked.

Don't blame the media for those "Media" leaks...someone on the inside leaked them out, the media is doing its job by reporting.

I was hoping all the retired generals who are now in the WH could fix the problem, I think we might need more generals!!!

Dispise Bezos on many levels and didn't know or forgot he owned WP. He is ripping the guts out of our country with Amazon and his opinions in the WP. We thought Walmart was a threat to small businesses, they're nothing compared to Amazon. But, I certainly admire Australia's policy on refugees. I consider them silent invaders not refugees. It's become a worldwide epidemic that grows worse every day. By the time governments of the world wake up and realize what they have allowed to happen, it will be too late. The entire world will look like the countries the refugees are fleeing from. Why don't they fight for their country like we did in the 1700's?

Also, I don't consider any conversation in the White House to be public records or not until the current administration is gone (I thought this was protected). How can you guide a country, when every thought, phone call, meeting and conversation becomes public knowledge. Congress can't agree on anything, the voters can't agree on anything, so we certainly don't need any of them interfering with White House business, except through the normal channels.

I'm afraid to say, you are probably totally correct. They insinuate themselves into a country, propagate like rabbits, and sooner or later, become a significant percentage of the country, literally *******their way to glory. By that I mean voting  their way to glory.

Different times, different world and different immigrants. We no longer have the blue collar working class jobs we had when earlier groups immigrated in the 18th and 19th century. In fact, that's a big part of the unemployment problem today....technology has eliminated these jobs.

We also didn't have a world filled with drugs, terrorists, street gangs and worse, which has grown exponentially within these newer immigration groups. Largest street gang in the USA is in LA and estimated to be 20,000 to 25,000 strong. And if you think the Muslim religion is just a religion, you're fooling yourself. They have been a violent society since the beginning of time and brought destruction to any country they resided in.

We also didn't have social programs back then or the mindset to shower anyone who makes it to our country, legally or not, with free something. Immigrants in previous centuries didn't expect to be taken care of, they came to work and make a better life or died in the process. Today it appears if you make it to the USA you just won the lottery, because our bleeding heart liberals will take care of you.

End of rant!

Too late. My great-grandparents already made it in and went right to work making steel and earning enough money to buy homes and raise Christian families.

I agree with BH. Different times and places. We must remember the past but using it to blame todays events on our ancestors is bull hockey.
I can find no evidence of any of my ancestors going back @ 200 years ever had or were responsible for slaves. Even if they did, don't blame me.
I didn't do it. Blame the British. They brought most slaves to the US.
