Re: Murph the Frank
My condolences Murph. Hoping that your faith will ease the pain of your bereavement.
You begin flying with a full bag of luck and an empty bag for experience. The object is to fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of luck.

Thanks for the heads-up, Roger.
Frank, I wish you the best. Nothing tougher than losing your very best friend.

So very sorry for your loss.

Murph,
I have been very fortunate. We have been married 64.5 years now and I would be lost without her.
How long were you married to Virginia? I know you miss her terribly.

We dated 10 yrs.; then, we were married for 27 yrs. = 37yrs together, exactly half my life.
In the split-second when I awaken each morning, I am disappointed because I immediately realize I'm not dreaming, then, I am waking to reality. She is not with me.
I'm trying to understand.

We got married in our early 40's and thought it best not to have children at that age.

As a school-teacher, I think you can safely say you had thousands of children Murph...don’t sell yourself short, mate.

I much appreciate your insight, Healey; it was gracious of you to say so. That is exactly how we felt about it. We affected thousands of lives and enjoyed the privilege immensely. Along that road, we both had been named "Teacher of the Year," more than once, in our respective school districts. Yes, you are right, we had the joy of being of service to many children and had the satisfaction of knowing we had meant something to them.
Thank you.

One of those students, from the late-70's, called me today to ask how I have been doing. He had comforted me at the wake, and said there that if I ever needed help that he and plenty of others who have loved me all these years stand "ready to be there" for me. He reminded me that I am loved by many of my former students who still know and talk about how I affected their lives.
What a privilege for me.
I am stunned.
And helped.
