Thanks, I just put two and two together as I just received the latest issue of the Wheelman magazine and saw your editorial in it.

Hello Phil glad to see another Wheelmen being able to multi collect ... happy pedaling and pulling throttle . Hope to see you at the up coming annual Wheelmen meet.

To the doubters ....riding high is the way to go ... the world is a much happier place up there . I just passed the cemetery...this was on the annual ride in Copake NY .. last month ..the York of antique bicycles ....two days later riding in NYC ....then down to York ...riding around before the halls opened .

Whilst riding around the Apple stopped at the two Lionel factories .. Murray St 1900-1904 ( home of 2 7/8" gauge two rail ) and 4-6 White St birth home of standard gauge (1906 for standard gauge and the evil center rail ).Lionel was at White St 1905-till kicked out in 1909 .
Sorry no O scale cooking at either location.

Hello Goose followers

I found a set of cars for the Goose to pull . Sorry no string of fluted Pomona's .

Can we assume these are Walthers'?
The cars have the same cast ends as the Walthers Hiawatha cars.
The fluting is metal added to the side ... was this offered by Walthers ? I've not seen this option in the catalog .. or perhaps I do it have the right year catalog.
Nicely built cars with silver paper wrapped over the roofs .
Interesting set but a bit small behind the gaint 17/64's Goose .
The cars have that old feel and look .. but old?

Yes these look like Walthers 400 series "streamline cars" with the corrugations applied to the sides, as follows from the top
"Mail" - #4615 - ( a modified "Olympian" kit)
"Bedroom" - #4856 - ( 13 Dbl Bdrm)
"Roomette" - #4854 - ( 18 Rmte)
" Diner" - #4855
"Observation" - #4858 - (4 Bdrm-Obs-Bf Lge)

Mostly (and loosely) based on pre-war PS plans for 38 Century and Broadway cars, they're 1:48 and even appear a tad smaller when compared to ICC's or BCM's. The "tells" are the separate corrugation strips (also supplied by Walthers) and the exposed the half-height car end castings and wood roof ends, which can be improved with BCM ends plate if you're so compelled. Nevertheless and opinion- an appropriate "primordial" period train for your Blue Goose. Congrats.

Hello Jim

Thank you very much for the Id on my "primordial" Walthers set of cars ... they can fill the space behind the Goose till the fluted Pomona's roll in ..then the "primordial" set can be dragged around by a one them there modern diesels in War Bonnet colors .
