so what do these people want.?????

Everything before everyone else - they're entitled to it since they're old..... While millennials will sit there quietly playing with their phones in line, these folks shove their way to the front, elbowing everyone out of the way, loudly complaining every step of their walkers and canes...and they drive like possessed by demons oblivious to all others on the roads. Can't you see I'm old, that I own this road, and I don't have to obey any traffic laws?

These folks didn't turn into *holes BECAUSE they got old. They were that way all their lives. It's just the modern miracles of medical science that has allowed them to continue to behave badly this late in the game. To be brutally honest, they are giving the vast majority of nice old people who are just happy to have made it this far a bad rap.

These people lived their entire lives demanding and getting special treatment. Some were an only child or youngest child or just used to cutting corners, cutting lines, playing it cagey, ..... Main difference now are the social filters that used to act as buffers are "gone".

I don't see why I should have to ....
I don't want to do .....
I am not going to ......

Well, let's completely avoid white racism, when speaking of a skewed sense of entitlement. Not to mention male supremacists, Christian supremacists, etc. Here comes Hondo, with more pictures of Latin Americans rushing the border.

I do agree with Chuck's above post. I must say I know some old folks who will find a way to be first in line if there is any kind of give-a-way to needy.
Just because one is old does not entitle them. My wife I get teachers retirement and minimum social security and we did pay into both systems and I do think we should get it as long as we can. We do ok but we cannot do anything we want when we want. I know some that get "meals on wheels" and are financially better off than we. Their attitude is as has been mentioned above, "I am old so I deserve it". My wife and I both have bad legs and arthritis, not crippling but enough to make walking difficult and it irritates me when I see persons park in handicapped spaces that appear to be in the 30-40 age group and have no apparent problems. Probably just sour grapes on my part.

My grandparents got Meals on Wheels, but they may have paid for it. I don't know how it works. It is a very good program.

I never saw any lines of folks trying to get out of the USA , and I had several occasions to be present in Federal buildings , and at the Immigration Dept. , no less, and involved with the system, as my wife, her parents, and I assisted a beloved friend become a citizen .

Yup. No lines to leave the country. Not a single soul petitioned to get out.

Murph, this isn't the Soviet Union, so you don't have to petition to leave the country. The lines would be at the consulates of the countries they are seeking to emigrate to. But, you knew that. Perhaps, you were attempting to make a little joke? "If you don't like it here in Whitesville, get the **** out"?

Reading your reply, there, I'm not sure, now, what I was trying to say, or why I was trying to say it. Maybe Rufus or Wayne will explain it to me.

Murph. remember all those people that said they were going to leave the country if Trump was elected. Guess what. Non of them left the country or moved to Canada. And all those celebrities are still making millions of dollars. The world did not come to and end like they said it would.

Canada is easy to visit, not so easy to move to. They have strict laws on property ownership to keep rich foreigners from buying up the prime real estate. They also keep tabs on their snowbirds that winter in warmer climes. You can wind up paying significant taxes and penalties if you are out of country for too long.

Since we live on the border we get to see a fair amount of Canadian TV (they really know how to cover a hockey game). Their political satire shows were featuring Canadians building a wall to keep us out.

That sounds great chuck. But Justin Trudeau has offered sanctuary for anyone that wants to come to Canada. I remember seeing lots of news about many illegals in this country heading into Canada. And I have also seen news about Canadians complaining about what it is coasting them.

For Canada's social programs they depend a lot on their oil exports to the US. I wonder what will happen when the Green New Deal kicks in and we stop using oil.

CBC news is on at 6 pm. The National at 10pm. Over the past 3 years I haven't seen any mass hysteria reporting about people crashing the border. I prefer their reporting because it actually is fair and balanced. 6pm broadcast is a little too local most of the time. I have trouble working up a sweat about a local senior citizen rec center closing because of provincial funding issues.
