A seminal evening in the Jungle, ladies and gentlemen. It brings a tear to my eye.

I have squandered the night attempting to network two computers over a linksys wireless router and am of a mind to scream.

Jon, your little scenes are always like a short story.

San, you didn't answer my question. Would you, please?

Jackie, blue on the tree, multi on the house. 2 strands of 6-color multi that I particularly like. Old GE lights, made in the US. Is that amazing or what?

Daizzy, I believe that emoticon means that you've just got a glimpse of Daizzy.

Dennis, Now if I could only get publishers to feel that way. They say I write great, but can't understand why I don't write something people can relate to.

Tramp, you only write stuff that HOBOS will get. And all the hobos LOVE your stuff.

You gotta write stuff that the rich people will like.

Jeez, Daisy, now you're getting me ramped-up. Hey, I know a carol:
Chet's nuts roasting on an open fire,
Jack Daniels nipping at your nose..

Tramp,

Was that the Gibson/Matrix question? I was having a little fun with Matrix vocabulary. I found the whole hype of merging X-Files like persona in with what is essentially a shallow Messiah story complete with an "anti-Christ" (Mr. Smith) laughable. It makes it a hoot to extend and abuse some of the trilogy's concepts in a trite fashion.

San, William Gibson typed out (manual typewriter) Neuromancer in 1981. It was pubished in '84 and launched the whole matrix-cyberspace trend. I was just curious what you were quoting from. Have you read his books? I think we might have discussed this before in soberer times.

Please the me that Bosch doesn't make anything else that has to do with laundry. Please!

Pete, now what kind of stuff do rich people like?

I think we discussed Gibson but I don't remember either. Probably something to do with Tequila.

The Bosch thing goes on and on.

I think you are maxed on the laundry side of things, but there is still a slew of small appliances. The Bosch meat slicer seems to be a horrifically inappropriate and offensive product.

Tramp, banal formulaic tripe about successful people. Make your fortune.

Now, back to the carols:
Oh come, all ye faithful

San, so how do I stop the Bosch thing? Sabotage something? She mentioned some other Bosch bit this morning. My mind is numb. Was it a vacuum? Hair drier? This has to end. How are you doing on the steam irons? I had to get the top of the line, of course. She just made me get a haircut from "Bill." This is an attempt to please her mother, my mother-in-law. I won't tell you how much, but it was over double what my barbershop charges. I'm beginning to understand that weird post about underwear you put up, though. Scary.

Pete, no idea what you're talking about. Never heard of such a thing.

All I can say is, "Ash and fir!"

I get my fur trimmed by the proverbial "old guys". It's your basic barber pole type of shop with ancient copies of Playboy and Newsweek. At the end of your trim, the guy massages your head and rubs "smell'em good" into your scalp. Conversations are initiated with lines like "What about those Raiders..."

I don't know how to end the Bosch thing. My dad was your basic Sears and Monkey Wards kind of guy; after years of programming me to choose among the "good", "better", and "best" offering from the catalogs, I still feel like a traitor if I buy something from "Yurope". He always had a line like "the 'good' model has the same motor in it as the 'best' one" or "it says Sears but it's made by a major manufacturer". If he was alive to see the 'Benz (it's somewhat vintage and not all that valuable) and Dammlier Chrysler in the garage he would have me shot after mumbling something about the "Alien and Sedition Act".

San, my favorite item about my three-chair barber shop--9 bucks for a regular--is that the deer head changes. There's a waiting list to get your deer head on the wall. It's like a damn art gallery, but for deer heads. The third chair, which I was smart enough to avoid, seeing as how all the townies did the same, turned out that the fellow was completely senile. He's in a home now.

Oh, "William," says hi.

Hello! I just could'nt help but make another pilgrimage to the Oracle. She is so HOT!! Hot Mother of Oracles! But now she has sent me on a quest. A quest to bring her back the Tri-rodded-pumper-of-shafts. I must comply with her wishes :D

Am I alone on this journey?
Alone I went in search of the Tri-rodded-pumper-of-shafts, and after blistering deserts, frozen mountains and a whole lot of beer, there I stood before it....

San, I have only one dying word: Sewing machines. Think of the attachments. I'm done.

Oh, God, yes! Sewing machines! I have my eye on one that does nearly everything! It's price is too dear for me just yet, and by the time I can afford it, it will probably be obsolete. By 2007, they'll be conversing with the seamstress. Visions of Hal. I have an old one (which I will never get rid of) that can sew leather and extremely bulky items. I've even used it to sew items made from fiberglass window screen! I was a costume designer for 10 years, and that baby made it through hell and back.
