Truth be told, Tramp and Dufus was with me that night.
Duf had a pint of Gold, Tramp had 'lifted' a case of beer, and it was all gone by midnight.
We were toasted.
Tramp kicked me in the head during the night and denied it in the morning.
The b*stard.
Bet if ya check, the bottles are still there. We stashed 'em under the pile of boards before we lit out.

Happy birthday, Pete. You stay put and I'll be along in about 14 months
I'd like to come out for a get-together, and there's an eastbound NS blowin' through Freeport as I type, but the early mornin' freight runs through at 35mph. It would have to slow to about 5mph for me to catch it.

Here's my latest column if anyone is interested. It's rather region specific, but what the hell.

Tramp,
Nice article. I have great memories of my summers spent at my Aunt's house on Long Lake near Harrison, Maine. It's a beautiful state.
I can relate to the "silence at night" experience. When I sleep in a cabin back in the North Carolina mountains ... there are no street lights, no car sounds, no nothing ... just total silence and darkness. It takes some people from the city a while to adjust.

An article on them ... it's a couple years ago.

Same invite for you, bro!
So it ain't your birthday? You so damned bored in your job that you need to contemplate how many friggin' days you been on the planet? Go out and mow the field, run over the friggin' yellowjacket nest if'n you need some excitement. Fall's a comin', buddy. Best time of the year. (My time of the year). Soon, we'll be sittin' round the campfire tellin' lies again.

I hope you guys don't hate me for this, but we needed the milk...
We got our daughter Leah in an arranged-marriage. A guy named Yuurck from Berzerkistan. Seemed like a stand-up guy.
On the plus side, we are getting 4 prize yaks, in trade.
Here they are about to head home from the train station on Yuurck's 'vehicle'.
Cute couple, no?
