No problem with mine. As part of the Triumph's weekend preventive maintenance I washed the engine and car, waxed the car, adjusted the valves, topped off the dash pots and balanced the carburetors. Approximately every 30 days I would disassemble the carburetors, clean everything, change the needle tapers (never found a pair of needles that worked better than the original) and reassemble everything.
The Jag and its carbs got a lot less care. Once I set the carbs up I just left them alone. With so much power on hand, a little mis-tuning of the carbs was not noticable.

The fastest I've ever driven a car was just under 140 by the speedometer, which was probably quite a bit less actual speed. The car was a 1964 XK-E. I still haven't seen photos of any hobos in Jags. Jon, was that really your Porsche?
The fastest I've ever gone in a car as a passenger was around 160. That was in a Lamborghini. I've had bikes up around 130 which feels very fast without a full-face helmet. Your face begins to stretch at about 110.

Maybe that's why mine were such a pain on both the
TR and MGs.
But hell, when you're a teenager there is one
other thing on your mind besides cars that takes time.

Same for me, Tramp. 140 in a 2004 SRT4 Dodge Neon, brand new off the truck during a pre-delivery inspection and road test. Those little bastards would really run. If you saw the picture of me, then picture a guy my size squeezed into a little Neon. I doubt I was really going that fast, though. I'm not afraid of speed when I'm doin' the drivin'. Hell, I've had an eighteen wheeler cranked clear down to the M in mph at the bottom of the speedo, and held it there for a half hour, up on the upper peninsula of Michigan.

Rossi arrogant Tramp? His world wide appeal is that he just the opposite, just having fun. If you haven't seen it, get a copy of the DVD "FASTER" for an in depth look at MotoGP racing and the participants. Just the fix for adrenaline junkies.

Ditto ... I picked up my new '69 Corvette down in Miami, FL.
It was a coupe (t-top) equipped with a 427 with solid lifters, tri-power 3-2 barrell carbs rated at 435 H.P. (actually it was more).
As I was driving north on the Florida sunshine Parkway, cruising around 75 MPH a Olds 442 pulls up next to me and wants to play.
Now mind you, I had only owned this new Vette about 2 hours, so I thought ... what the hell. I put the pedal to the metal and all 3-2s opened up and as I left the Olds behind I looked down at the speedometer and it was on 140 MPH.
Scared the hell out of me as I thought what would I do if a FHP trooper was hiding waiting for speeders. That would have locked me up in jail and thrown away the keys.

I've never owned anything that would go over 130. I think I have come close to that speed a couple of times on the race track. Its not the speed that gets the heart pumping as much as the machine you are riding on/in. Anything over 90 on my Norton gives me white knuckles but my Guzzis are just breaking into stride at that speed. I imagine 150 in a Porsche isn't as exciting as 75 in a Ford Pinto.

That's true ... remember when we used to race go-karts. When your *** was sitting a couple of inches off the ground, 50 MPH felt like 100 MPH.
