I'd never have the heart to cut up a perfectly good FLH (?). It was the Mack Truck of motorcycles.

Sure did!!

You ain't a bagger kind of guy, anyway!

Never did like those fat headlights, OR those huge air cleaners, OR that front fender. Didn't lose nothing losing those bags, either. Cleaner exhaust, even a better logo. New carb?
Nice work, bro!!

Tell ya what, he did right by me!
Every day I'm out there crawling over the field and the Farmall's pulling like a mule, I thank Mitch for all he did.

Killer pictures you guys!!!!!!! (literally!) I'll have to get Tramp to take one of me on the Velocette.

Actually I asked him to last week, but he said he hadn't made enough progress on the thing yet to post another.

Hey! He saw the Farmall with all it's warts. We want to see the process, not only the progress!

Wayne- that was the exact year I owned as well. It was a rag top. I admit I'd love to see one under my carport again.

How was it? I did not like mine. It ate Lucas alternators. On my Triumph I turned the battery around to get a negative ground
and installed a Delco alternator (to replace the Lucas generator.) I was about to do the same with the Jag, i.e. replace the
Lucas alternator with a Delco (it already had a negative ground) when someone offered me more than I had paid for it.

The Jag did not corner worth a darn. It would break loose suddenly, sending me toward the edge of the road. The Triumph
typically cornered at full throttle in a four wheel drift.

After replacing the Lucas Fuel pump with a new one, I resorted to whacking the new pump with the spinner hammer to start it
when it got stuck.

The Jag did accelerate like a drag racer. It was geared for 160 mph. I tried to find out if it really would do 160 once and
blew the head gasket at 130. Did you ever take the head off yours? Even with the hood (fenders and front end included) removed
I could not get it off. I rented an engine hoist and lifted the front wheels off the ground (by the head.) A little prying
between the head and block separated them. Gasket was blown between cylinders 4and 5.

The Corvette combines the best of both Brit cars. Other than throwing a rod at 110,000 miles it has been trouble free.

Wayne, other then having to "top off" the dampers in the 3 SU's every now and again, the biggest pain was broken spokes in the wire wheels.(although you felt like you were on a pit crew when you pulled out the brass hammer to knock the spinning lug nut off  )
Like you, I was caught in a weak moment when I was offered more then I paid for it. My worst "Lucas moments" were with the TR6. :x
