Tramp!! Good news! We found Granny's teeth and she treated the whole town to watermelon at the station. She's still missing her thong, but my guess is it's draped on the tender of some K-4 at Union Station by now.

Carl!

Author of the Caboose Car thread, the first come-in from the cold, sit down by the pot-bellied, pop a brew, eat some stinkin' chili, shoot the sh*t, just for the hell's sake of having like-minded souls with whom to shoot the sh*t, thread.
Man, that one went the distance, too. Was a good one.
Nice to have you back around again.

Tramp, thanks for the compliment! Just as crooked, but you super-sized me! Gracias.

The far terminus of the Bloomsburg and Sullivan was a lumbering camp, and I've seen some pictures, and them was some funky-lookin' dudes by week's end. Make us hobos almost look respectable.
But the Friday evening train was full of prostitutes, come up on the Reading from Philadelphia, to help them boys with their paychecks.
It was the Bloomsburg and Sullivan's finest hour.

Jeez, you pimentos-and-olives guys. I come from plainer traditions. Dog-and-a-beer and I'm sittin' pretty. Tonight, Coors light.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all! Sometimes it takes a holiday to see the likes of Pete and Willie, but now even Carl has come home! I hope all you hoboes have a fully belly and a fresh drink. It's good to see everyone's here.

Cheers!

I for one am very happy to hear from you, Jackie!
How bad were the floods where you live?

Jackie Blue

Postby Jackie Blue » Thu Nov 25, 2004 9:36 pm

There was some serious flooding here. The Colorado flowed over its banks and some people had real problems. I came home from work on Tuesday to squishy carpeting. The pad had to be removed and the water extruded from the carpet, but it's not so bad considering.

Jackie, I sure feel you're pain. While living in Houston, we were flooded out twice. What a miserable annoyance. I hope your Thanksgiving went better.

I was sittin' on this fence waiting for a westbound. In my pocket was a ball of wax. The only possession on my person, except for the vacuum pump in my breast pocket. I had heard back east, that people out west were riding ocean waves on crudely shaped boards. I felt in my heart I had something to contribute to the cult.

Any survivors?

Jackie Blue

Postby Jackie Blue » Fri Nov 26, 2004 9:44 am

I survived. In fact, since I did not get to roast a turkey with all the fixings yesterday, I'm doing so today. I love my relatives, but if I'm not in the kitchen making the feast, I'm not exactly comfortable.

Jackie, better late then never, as the saying goes!! I seem to find that my cooking improves with an open bottle of wine in the kitchen, for some strange reason. :D How about you? :D

Alive and kicking.

Probably won't see Jon until the wee hours of the evening.

Hey, JB!
