Yeah, she was a long ways from the City of New Orleans. But this verse from Arlo Guthrie's song still brings a tear to the eye....

But all the towns and people seem to fade into a bad dream
And the steel rail still ain't heard the news
The conductor sings his songs again
"The passengers will please refrain:
This train got the disappea rin' railroad blues

Tramp, the last time I talked with Hev, those staples have him pretty immobile. He can't even sit in his computer chair comfortably to type. The good news is he's healing well and the staples should be coming out in about a week and a half. Here's a toast to the lad!

The most interesting thing is the amount of topics, ideas, point of view, drunks nights, long nights, alone nights waiting for, happy hours, sad hours, scary moments, WOW!.....
You can right a book!!

A blonde decides to try horseback riding, even though she has had no
lessons, nor prior experience. She mounts the horse unassisted,
and the horse immediately springs into motion. It gallops along at a steady
and rhythmic pace, but the blonde begins to slide from the saddle.

In terror, she grabs for the horse's mane, but cannot seem to get a firm grip.
She tries to throw her arms around the horse's neck, but she slides down the
horse's side anyway. The horse gallops along, seemingly impervious to its slipping rider.

Finally, giving up her frail grip, the blonde attempts to leap a way from
the horse and throw herself to safety. Unfortunately, her foot has become entangled
in the stirrup; she is now at the mercy of the horse's pounding hooves as her head
is struck against the ground over and over.

As her head is battered against the ground, she is mere moments away from
unconsciousness when to her great fortune.....

Frank, the Walmart greeter, sees her dilemma and unplugs the horse.

And you thought all they did was say Hello.

Sounds like a bullshit story to me, Dirt. How'd she figure out where to put the quarter in?

I agree Mitch.....but I think Dirt went to the Bloom Mall and wandered over to the Walmart half shot in the *** and started ridin' the horse and the greeter was the blonde that had to shut off the horse for the poor Bo...................................

BTW.................got these damn staples out of the side of my rib cage late this afternoon. All 45 of them and startin' to feel a little better now. At least I can sit at my puter now without hurtin'...............................

You're a good man, Hev. Know what they say? Time heals all wounds. It's the pain in between that sucks.

Hev! Damn, buddy, can I set a Friday night beaker of the Captain or something else at your long vacant spot at the bar? No one would dare sit on your stool.

Mitch, as far as I can tell only death ends all wounds. That time healer shite is bull. It's like the saying "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger." Another raft of Shite. Tell that to Christy Mathewson.
