Great news, indeed! (*huge·sigh·of·relief*)
Hev's gonna be on a ventilator overnight, in an induced-coma, (rumor has it the nurses requested it in self-defense
), so he'll gratefully be feeling no pain for awhile, and be able to get some desperately-needed sleep.
Patty said they were anticipating 2½ hours of surgery, and they were done in 1½, so there's another good sign.
With luck, he'll be moved out of ICU tomorrow to a step-down unit, at which point he'll be able to bitch about the bad news... he got himself a catheter about which he does not yet know.
But he'll have braggin' rights, too. Turns out they didn't have a catheter tube that was big enough, and they had to send out to the local Do-It center for a garden hose.
Our prayers are still with ya, big guy! Fun aside, I know you have a ways to go and a lot yet to endure. Your young fan club is rootin' for you!
