We can only hope. I have more than enough bad experience with PRC train garbage. Half 0 and #1 gauge. Then there are China drives.
This might be good if manufacturing shifts back to CONUS.

I went table to table in the halls of the York meet asking retirees how the market crash has impacted them. Most laughed with satisfaction, explaining that they’d long ago sold their stocks to invest in $TRUMP coin, $MELANIA coin, and limited edition MyPillows.

We did vote for exactly this, and we are continuing to support it, although not with a huge overwhelming mandate. Does this become unstoppable in 1933 -er, 2025?

Over on the cesspool formerly known as Twitter, Firecrown Media owner Craig Fuller retweeted a post about how the White House just updated the 321 Executive Order. Now items from China & Hong Kong sent through International Postal Mail will get a tariff of 90% or $75 per item.

That's going to hurt the hobbyists who've been getting their raw materials (LEDs, servos, motors, brass and styrene sheets, brass bar and tubing, etc.) from sellers in China selling on ebay and in amazon's marketplace.

Here's an example, 11.8" (300 mm) long brass tubes for $3.26/each, shipped from China to your residence in the US for just 70 cents: Brass Tube DIY Tube Round Diameter 2/3/4/5/6/7/8/10/14/16/20mm L300mm Brass Tube. (Seller also has brass bars and rods, styrene, LEDs, solder, shrink tubing, electrical connectors, etc.)

From the tweet, I conclude that the brass tube shipped from China that cost $4 yesterday will now cost $79 tomorrow if I were to order from the same source..... so I guess I'll be ordering K&S from Zoro in the US the next time I need brass tubing. :D :D

Finally, here's the tweet I'm referring to: Craig Fuller - "Trump just nuked Temu and Shein".

I would think their laughter would be from sarcasm.

While investors often look to digital assets during market turmoil, Trump and first lady Melania Trump entered the cryptocurrency space well before stocks began to slide.

The $TRUMP and $MELANIA tokens, launched with fanfare, quickly lost most of their value—offering an early glimpse at how political branding plays out in high-risk markets.

Just two weeks after Trump's January 20 presidential inauguration, the value of his branded cryptocurrency $TRUMP plummeted by over 75 percent.

Trump's coin has continued to fall after his recent global tariffs announcement. In the week beginning April 1, the token has fallen more than 20 percent in value.

The My Pillows company is tied up in every kind of law suit and settlement payments imaginable.

Just one of many: In August 2016, the New York State Attorney General's office charged that My Pillow failed to collect and remit over $500,000 in sales tax. The company denied any wrongdoing but agreed to pay $1.1 million in settlement.

In April 2021 retailers including Bed Bath & Beyond, Kohl's, Wayfair, and Texas supermarket chain H-E-B were removing My Pillow products from their stores.

On September 20, 2024, MyPillow posted an advertisement on X (formerly Twitter) for a sale on their classic pillow. The sale price was $14.88, which critics have noted is a common Nazi dog whistle known as the Fourteen Words. Numerous white supremacist accounts praised MyPillow and Mike Lindell in response.

MyPillow, founded in 2009 by Mike Lindell, is a company that sells a patented open-cell, poly-foam pillow design, but it is not publicly traded, so there is no stock history graph to track.

My thoughts on this are purely selfish. I basically stopped buying in the US after Australia decided to apply a 10% tax on Dot Comes, with the exchange rate and tax buying a model was double the purchase price in US dollars. So! Fare is fare, I hope Australia drops the tax on US goods coming into Australia. It’s unlikely that China will back down, this will make it hard on brass importers and can US made make a return. I think so,some of my favourite models where made in the U S.

Change always creates push back and those stirring the pot the most didn't vote him in. I've never liked big changes in my life but I've learned to deal with it, but the changes allowed to happen in the USA the past 20-25 years are crazy. So, as far as I'm concerned, anything that removes any of those absurd ways of thinking is good. Unless he starts WWIII I think I'll be okay.

This Tariff thing is going to settle down in a few weeks. He's not going to crater the economy just to make a point. I understood leaning on Mexico and Canada to stop the stream of illegal aliens and drugs, but the other countries was a surprise......but it will settle out.

I think it’s incredable to be watching history unfolded from your arm chairs. We live in fascinating times indeed.

Fascinating and scary. The internet is a great tool and allows us many benefits, like this forum. But, it's a terrible tool for devious people who want to do harm. Sort of like Voldemort in "Harry Potter". He does great things----terrible, but great. That's the internet. :( :( :( :(

You can google Nancy Pelosi tariff in 1996. She begs congress to so what trump is doing now. Both sides have flip flopped on this issue. Proof they don’t give a rats azz about the people.
