(CNN) - Ford has applied for a patent for technology that lets vehicles repossess themselves.

If owners ignore warnings about missed payments, the system starts with disabling features such GPS, air conditioning, cruise control and the radio.

And it could emit irritating sounds when the driver is there.

Next, it could lock the owner out.

If the owner still doesn’t act, the vehicle may drive itself to a spot for a tow truck to pick it up - or to an impound lot, repossession agency or lending institution.

And if repossession costs more than the vehicle is worth, it could drive itself to a junkyard.

Well, can't really fault them for that; you enter into that agreement when you take their funding and sign that loan. Might teach folks to get a loan outside the dealership.

I agree make your payments. I'm a little foggy on all the details. I think JD can still use that device. What congress did was remove a clause that voided your warranty if you remove it. This is all hear say also. Some famers were telling me about this. They ( the farmers) felt is was an issue of national security. What if during wartime they get hacked? A lot of our farm equipment could be turned off. That was the farmers view or reasoning.

That's got to be one of the more silly things I've heard in a few years. Smells more like they failing to manage their finances and looking for an excuse to blame others.

I saw a article in the paper that said Ford dropped the price of the Mustang e by $6,000. How do the people who just bought one feel? It said Ford is the 2nd biggest electric car maker here, could have fooled me as I have only seen a couple of Mach e's and I'm in cars everywhere Los Angeles.

For those that don't see charging stations. This is in a WaWa parking lot along RT 301 south of Dover De. The first white car pulled in the same time i did. I went for 30 gallons of diesel and a sandwich. My 30 gallons and pit stop lasted 35 minutes. Their stop of charge and food lasted the same time. The left right behind me. How far will their 30 minutes get them? I don't know. Their 30 minutes was not a waste. They had lunch. So did I. While i was there several others pulled in for a charge. Charging stations are showing up everywhere now and a 30 minute stop is not that out of the norm.

I frequent the Royal Farms store on Kent Island. They have a bank of Tesla chargers. I’ve never seen a car being charged there.

Royal Farms has a similar set up. Sort of the reinvention of the old Ho-Jo's rest stop paradigm. Pull in to get fuel, hit the plumbing, grab a meal, hit the road. They also undercut the competition on cost of gas - it's all about getting you inside the store and buying food, using the Wi-Fi, etc.
