The News reports that sightings and encounters in Pennsylvania and New Jersey (at least!) have been on the uptick.

Now, apparently moose are starting to traverse and roam the yards of some homes in Connecticut, which has been reported in the News on more than one occasion.

I have heard, along the way, that moose are not gentle souls , certainly not comely and blithe like deer.

Take it as gospel that a moose is NOT a critter that you want to have an encounter with. They have been known to go bat sh*t crazy without much provocation!

I'm pretty sure that they are considered the MOST dangerous because of their UNPREDICTABILITY. The good news is the moose population of Jersey is rather small.

Renee Levow, 55, of Maryland said her 'be loud and act big' actions backfired during a terrible bear encounter

Had not heard anything about that one in MD, and Frederick Co. would make our news, but then I read through the article - that took place 2 years ago.

Bear's even bigger now!

Saw my first coyote here a week back, just a block or so from the house. That's more disconcerting than bears, at least to me.

Sorry for the late response, but any "rutting" animal becomes even more dangerous during that season and fall is rutting season.

That bear seems pretty casual about his interactions with a human and a human-created environment.

Coyotes are getting pretty bold, nowadays, too. They had in the News where one walked right up behind a toddler and grabbed hold, with the clear intention of walking off with a snack.
