...an appropriate version of horseshoes, considering the sheer mass of that participant. I’m sure she’s proud of her accomplishment(s) .

I’ve seen horses that had trimmer / thinner lower legs than that livestock .

Not seeing it that way at all - it's such an iconic painting that everyone wants to pay homage to it not unlike Da Vinci's Mona Lisa and Last Supper.
