I'm not sure it's necessarily beyond my skill-set, but certainly far beyond my knowledge base, which was kinda the point of this thread...I wanted to see some 1:1 scale stuff, along with a few model interpretations thereof. Having grown up in the sticks, I figured maybe I'd learn something along the way (which I have).

Ah, you're the one that does and that's appreciated quite a lot. Too many others can't be bothered with model RR'ing at all would rather argue about political rubbish that they at best only marginally comprehend. The rest seemed hypnotized by their shiny things....

I'll get back to the 1:1 photos - I try to limit posting those to once a week.....

Thanks, and thanks for your input. The breadth and variety of equipment is just phenomenal.

Now, if we could just get more folks to post pics and descriptions of what they are up to model railroad-wise, here, 3-rail, and 2-rail.

It is and it's great fun playing in the traction arena :!:

NOW -- IF the powers that be than absentee-management operating this forum site -- fix it so posted can install photos from their computers or cell phone on-board image file folders directly - perhaps more people will find it easier to post here along with their photos. I have a bunch of new carbody projects I am working on -- on my camera SD card and to go on my computer from they camera -- but I can't use my computer to load them here quickly and easily to MTJ anymore by the "browse files" method. My reason for not contributing much here anymore -- unless its something I can get from another website or webpage whose URL address I can copy and use to install that material here ( via [url] format)

I moved to off site hosting years ago to avoid that very problem - simply cannot rely on the forums as hosts. Also, then the photo stays on my host and under my control such that I can post to several forums with ease..

Get a free account with Flickr - think you can host 1000 photos there for free. Shutterfly I think also has a free level account.

In the for what it is worth category I think Flickr is the way to go. Shutterfly stopped allowing posting to a third party on their free account
sometime ago. That is when I moved to Flickr. I think they all might get that way eventually.

I’ve been using Flickr for a few years now and it works well. I’m about two thirds of the way to my 1000 shot free limit, so decision time soon.

Had not been aware of that - wonder how it is that Bob T. manages to use it here then.....

An early 20th century view of the street car depot at Long Branch Park, Syracuse, New York:

Those open cars look bigger than most I've seen. The season for open trolleys in Syracuse must be about 90 days!

Think I've seen 19(?) seat cars; roof on those looks rather flat, too.

Not sure but unless I ponied up money I could not. They sent emails. Maybe I was scammed! Well, I am used to Flickr NOW! :D

In the for what it is worth category I just chatted with Dario at S'fly. He said that posting photos to a third party is not something Shutterfly does anymore. I mentioned with no name what you said about Bob T. and he had no answer. I thought you had to have a membership that cost money to do the third party thing but Dario said it just isn't anything they do. Maybe a forum's photo format present an issue? I don't know enough on this to help anyone. So just:

Train ON!

Free options exist and are usable despite claims and hand waving to the contrary.

Yup, can't wait! Hopefully we get a couple of decent storms this winter.
