On another note, do you know of any detail vendor that sells streamlined number boards?

Primer photos are in the camera, and orange Is sprayed. Photos this evening.

No on the numberboards, but I would try Lou Houlemarde and then Hill's Hobby. I believe the CLW nose came bare, and you solder your own from a hopefully compete selection. I have never built a CLW E or F, because I am not wild about the single etch and the possibility that he got the bulldog nose wrong.

I say "hopefully" - I have never seen a Smith kit that did not have errors and omissions. That's probably why the empty boxes are worth so much - maybe the missing pieces are in there?

Edit: orange for stripes is on - looks more like Seaboard than B&O.

Oops. None of the photos turned out well at all. "Seaboard" has a wheel off the track.

White primer is a lousy prep for a photo.

Here we go - all the wheels are on the track. Stripes need to be re-done with better masking, but for now I am getting out the ruling pen and striping brush for some minor touchup. More or less happy, and this is my least-good E7.

Good looking engine Bob; I found the factory Champs for that nose herald and wing mustache, albeit/caveat the striping around them looks a tad red to me.
Your car body striping is pretty much the right colour as I can tell too as in dead nuts on,
kudos

Latest PA - this one was carefully machined to permit a lighted side logo, which I filled up with brass, and was carefully fitted but not soldered. It came without trucks or fuel tank skirts. I couldn’t resist a quickie paint job with rattle cans. It will get redone after a lot of stacked-up airplane work.

Oh, oops. I need to load it from here into Shutterfly. Give me a few minutes?

The wheels being off the track never particularly offended me.....you still got the gist of what was meant to be shown.

Dave stopped posting a while back, and the only time he has posted since was to tell that Woody Matthews had passed away. I suspect he just lost interest. Hope he is doing OK!
