odd...Neill's stuff?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/O-Scale-2-RAIL ... 4585695670
From our good buddy at 108 S Poplar. Definitely not an E-2. Not even sure if anything other than trucks are salvageable. Windows? Roof is just too flat and too sharp an edge.
Every E-2 photo I've seen has BIG porthole windows. Roof detail seems wrong.
E-2's were somewhat distinctive, no?
E-6 sides, maybe?

You're presuming that the seller has any knowledge of what he's selling beyond what it was advertised as when he bought it.

However, one must guess the purveyor of such goods at prices they ask should perform a modicum of effort into research.
Like our good friends in Buford.....who claim "custom brass" or "custom cast" when they have no idea....yet it is readily apparent, and other listings for similar items they get correct.
How hard is if to google "E-2" and say to yourself, uh, nope.

I am possessed of no such level of optimism whatsoever.

There ya go.
One would think someone who sets themselves up as BMOC, drives halfway across the country with their little trailer, looks over the goods, snatches what they can (had to have some level of mediocre brilliance to do that) loads it up, drives it home, sorts, lists....and has no clue?
BMOC. Puffed chest. Thumbs behind braces. And you must think he's clueless.
Odd, this evilbait con game.

Same seller has these. Would they do for a N6A caboose?

Since when is Kentucky to Indiana halfway across the country?
As long as this outfit has been selling on eBay (19 years) they've done just that - run in, grab everything possible for as little as possible, and dump it on eBay. Two steps up from scavengers.
Odd, this evilbait con game.
Has nothing to do with eBay; you see the same sorts at all the meets and shows with tables full of overpriced junk. Bottom feeders selling to other bottom feeders. Not limited to trains or any other area - junk dealers trying to make a profit selling stuff that they barely have any idea what it is that they are selling.
Every so often I used to score some nice brass from this seller,

And more and more, recently, you see the stuff not selling so they part it out.
If there was any value, it's complete.
How do you know?
See a shell, look at their other items, see power trucks, frames, all that.

Auction was at Stouts - Indiana. Short hop from Kentucky.

Re: odd...Neill's stuff?
Anybody know how to set up a search to look only at Mr. Poplar's O Scale offerings?
Isn't what he is doing exactly what merchants are supposed to do? The ones I hate are those who buy from some old guy or his widow at a show, move it across the aisle, double the price, and smile at the hapless first seller. At least the merchant could wait for another show? Yuk!

Bob, go to the listing Dave posted and then select the "see other items" option under the "Seller's Information" box on the right of the listing header.
He's got some HO and Lionel up there too, but most of the current listing appear to be from Stout's liquidation of Neil's estate, from what I understand he won a substantial load of it.
It would be nice if it was described more accurately in the listing but if that was my criteria
I'd likely have far less in my basement.

Go to one of his, find the link for other items from this seller.
And, no, it isn't. My complaint in this instance is cluelessness.
Let's say Bob wants to buy a refrigerator. Kewl.
Go to a store, owner shows you a washing machine. Tries to convince you it's a refrigerator.
E-2? E-5?
Finally you sort that out, he wants two grand. Store across town, same machine, 850. They get them from the same distributor......opportunist...hoping you don't catch him at his game.
So the clown in question does huge buys, comes home, and 100% markup. Nice work.
Tell me there's a hundred bucks in that homebuilt E-2 dummy. Trucks? Scrap brass?
