Re: Time for Church
Austere, almost fortress-like, in my very subjective first impression.

Yes and I think typical of many small town churches of that period.

I support thread drift.

Re: Time for Church
The diversity in size of the stained glass windows is what caught my eye beyond the large wheel in the belfry for the bell carriage. I have to wonder what the other side looked like. Big church that would make a too big model except on a large layout. Basement entrance; boiler and heating plant maybe. 2 chimneys....
Your body is not a temple. It’s an amusement park. Enjoy the ride.
Re: Time for Church
Do you think that is a clothesline? Is there a pair of shoes tossed on it? Above the side door?
I spend entirely too many hours a day tying my shoes

No. What's over the side door is a lighting fixture that's behind the two power lines that run over to the main body of the church.

Re: Time for Church
Refreshing.
Re: Time for Church
Do you know where it is/was?
My guess is not in the U.S..
It is fenced, I think.
I agree, Murph.

Not in US, England, I thought. Yes - nice and open and close to all of Nature. A great improvement over walled in space.

Re: Time for Church
The grounds area reminds me of some photos of the Austrian palaces.
Wonder how old it is.
I would hope that the speaker would not be amplified so the naturalness is not ruined.
Maybe some very subtle amplification would do.
Hmmm. Maybe no speaker is needed.
I think it is fascinating. I could sit and ponder a while.

I think more people should do just that.

Re: Time for Church
Agreed. That can be very refreshing, too.

Once I built a railroad, I made it run,
Made it race against time.
Once I built a railroad, now it's done --
Brother, can you spare a dime?

Re: Time for Church
Not the same one but there is a glass church in California. We had some friends that got married there.
Wayfarers Chapel located in Rancho Palos Verdes,
https://www.wayfarerschapel.org/
The church was designed by Lloyd Wright (son of Frank Lloyd Wright) in the late 1940s and was built between 1949 and 1951. Wright departed from the tradition of using masonry in order to "achieve a delicate enclosure that allows the surrounding landscape to define the sacred space".[1] Additions were built in later years, including a tower and a visitor center, the latter of which had been lost in a landslide during the 1960s
