Pat Mucci, owner of P&D Hobbies, passed away yesterday.

Wow, this is terrible news. Pat was always so active in O scale and will truly be missed. His "F" unit kits are a major breakthrough and contribution to "O" scale and he was a prince of a man to deal with. Condolences to his family. Thanks for posting Martin.

Absolutely, my go to source for beaucoup stuff for 30 years as well and I'm sure I'm only one in a great many in that regard. I never met Pat Mucci, but I certainly appreciated his store and services.

Definitely a big contributor to the modern era of this hobby.

Ordered from him over the phone several times and had the pleasure to meet him at a few shows. Always very nice.

I hope his shop continues on as long as it can as a tribute to his legacy as does Des Plaines Hobbies does for Ron Sebastian.

OBITUARY
Patrick James Mucci, age 73 of Macomb, passed away on December 3, 2020.
Patrick was born on March 28, 1947 to Patrick and Rose Mucci He grew up in East Detroit and graduated from East Detroit High School. He honorably served in the U.S. Army for the Army Mapping Service, Washington D.C. He was a self-made entrepreneur who owned and operated many businesses through the years, including multiple Little Caesars franchises. His heart and soul live on in his flagship business of 46 years, P&D Hobby Shop.
He had a significant other, Dianne and three children with his previous wife, Debbie; Bobbi, Stacey, and Jimmy.
He was a die-hard Detroit Red Wings and Tigers fan, and he loved watching the March Madness college basketball tournament.
He worked a lot, yet always made time for friends and family, like his annual fishing trips to Ludington, model railroad shows, and never missed a family gathering. Everywhere he went he made people smile.
Loving father of Barbara “Bobbi” (Tim) Mucci-Sollie of Goodrich, MI, Stacey Mucci (John) Koch of Springboro, OH, and James Patrick (Karessa) Mucci of Macomb, MI; beloved grandfather of Brent Patrick-Mucci Sollie, Will Mucci Sollie, Kaylee Dawn Koch, John Patrick Koch, Jeffrey Donald Koch, and Mischa Rose Mucci; dear brother of Julie Hardy, Virginia “Ginny” Sullivan, Jackie (Tom) Keat, and Geraldine “Dina” (Joe) Martucci; dear significant other Dianne Tas and her daughter Ashley Nelson; dear friend, mother to his children, and previous wife Debra J Summers
Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Rose Mucci.
Patrick is also survived by many extended loved ones and friends.
He will be deeply missed.

I did not know Mr. Mucci or anything about him but I am always affected when someone so well liked and knowing of his craft dies.
