He's just making up stuff again skewing reality.

I didn't make this up.

Sen. Amy Klobuchar, who could become Biden's attorney general, said breaking up Google should be 'on the table'

"In a serious monopolization action like this one, it's important that a breakup remedy be on the table," the senator said.

Amazon, Apple, Facebook, and Google employees have reportedly shelled out $4.8 million to support Joe Biden since 2019 — and $240,000 for President Trump

There are many ways in which our country could be improved but, IMHO, throwing out what we have is NOT one of them.
I have said this too many times but I am old and, probably like most, would just like to live a few more years witout worrying
about what will be destroyed next. Some worry about extremists around the world and the problems they cause but it seems
to me that we must find better ways to improve our country without the use of violence. I have four kids, six grand kids and
five great grand kids. I understand there will be more. The U.S. must still be a good place to live or else so many would not
want to come here from other countries.

I don't have answers to any of our problems, not smart enough for that, and I do realize that the U.S. is not perfect but it
is closer than most other places. Yes, there are some small countries that may seem to be better but they are similar in
many ways.

Remember that I am old enough to have been in school when history and geography were still being taught and you didn't
get trophies for just being on the team. I worked with kids, and if you do that you must also work with parents, @ fifty
years and I still don't believe all is lost.

US states plan to sue Facebook next week
It is not known what the states plan to include in their complaint
https://www.foxbusiness.com/technology/ ... -next-week

A group of U.S. states led by New York is investigating Facebook Inc for possible antitrust violations and plans to file a lawsuit against the social media giant next week, four sources familiar with the matter said on Wednesday.

The complaint would be the second major lawsuit filed against a Big Tech company this year. The Justice Department sued Alphabet Inc's Google in October.

More than 40 states plan to sign on to the lawsuit, one source said, without naming them.

No idea. That was a near obvious monopoly though. Google and Facebook are not without competition.

True but remember the attorneys will be involved. Years and years. Many hours.

Facebook makes it's money from advertisers. Anyone that buys from the ads will be paying for it. Do you buy stuff from Facebook ads. ??

I avoid Facebook at all costs; who do you think pays the bills for the DoJ lawyers? And the 40+ states' attorneys?

Facebook sued for 'denying opportunities to US workers'
https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-55176516

The US Department of Justice has accused Facebook of discriminating against American workers by giving hiring preferences to immigrants.

A lawsuit alleges the social media firm refused to recruit, consider or hire qualified and available Americans for more than 2,600 positions.

Those jobs instead went to foreigners on temporary visas, the lawsuit says.

Facebook disputed the allegations, but said it was co-operating with the department.

The lawsuit concerns Facebook's use of temporary H-1B visas, which are often used by tech companies to bring highly skilled foreign workers to the US.

In its lawsuit, filed on Thursday, the department alleged that Facebook "intentionally created a hiring system" that favoured H-1B visa holders and other temporary workers over Americans.

That's pretty funny given that to use and maintain such a system that the US Gov't would have to be an active participant since the State Dept. controls issuance and approval of all H-1B visas. I used to be able to hire 1 specialist into my research group under an H-1B and those were like gold when recruiting. They almost all were taken away ~20 years ago so if Facebook is using them, then the State Dept. is approving them. I wonder if DoJ has bothering to wander over to State and ask them about this yet?

BTW, we used H-1B visas for recruiting since US candidates would not take the positions. So, this is quite possibly another fantasy song & dance about foreigners taking American jobs........................that Americans wouldn't do in the 1st place.

Have to love it when the inmates run the asylum.

Google staff walk out over women's treatment
https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-46054202

Staff at Google offices around the world have staged an unprecedented series of walkouts in protest at the company's treatment of women.

The employees are demanding several key changes in how sexual misconduct allegations are dealt with at the firm, including a call to end forced arbitration - a move which would make it possible for victims to sue.

Google chief executive Sundar Pichai has told staff he supports their right to take the action.

"I understand the anger and disappointment that many of you feel," he said in an all-staff email. "I feel it as well, and I am fully committed to making progress on an issue that has persisted for far too long in our society… and, yes, here at Google, too."

Maybe the boys will learn to leave the girls alone.
