I just saw "Slumdog Millionaire" for the third time since it came out eleven years ago. It is still a great delight .

On 23 March, a 56-year-old man living in a vast, labyrinthine slum in the western Indian city of Mumbai went to see a doctor. He was feeling feverish and had a bad cough.

The garment trader lived in Dharavi where more than half-a-million people are spread over 2.5 grubby sq km, which is less than a square mile. (Imagine a population larger than Manchester living in an area smaller than Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens.) The slum was the inspiration for the Oscar-winning Slumdog Millionaire film and city planners from all over the world have studied its throbbing economy and society.

Tales from the Loop on Amazon Prime is very interesting. I've watched 4 episodes. Great cast, beautifully photographed, great story lines. It is hard to describe. Sort of Twilight Zone (Rod Serling version) in flavor.

Been watching the Ken Burn's segments on the Roosevelts on PBS (after catching my fun filled evening episode of Rick & Morty), and finding it eerily applicable and parallel to current times.

Netflix is showing the restored/extended cut of The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. About 14 minutes of material that has not been available was remastered and re-dubbed. The film is now just shy of 3 hours in length. They did not put the Intermission "sequence" that was in the original Italian release. No earth shattering material in those 14 minutes but the material it does clear up some 'hanging chads" in the story line.

I bought this restored/extended cut of The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly when it was released on DVD. I also have the original release. I'm a big western fan.....You can tell where it was added back in. The parts that they added back in was part of the original foreign release and they had to get the actors to redo their lines. Their voices are different. Doesn't sound the same as the rest of the movie..

After the release of a Fistful Of Dollars Italy in 1964 and then in the United States in 1967 The Italian went crazy making the Spaghetti Western genre..
