I believe so. It seems to tie in with several ancient stories of the "earth" flooding. Or in this case that "local" part of the earth flooding.

Heck. I might even get to Atlantis :)

Yes, divers have found settlements on the previous shoreline, and evidence that the inhabitants ate freshwater fish. Presumably, from antediluvial times.

One theory is that Atlantis was Minoan Crete, before the super volcanic eruption which led to it's demise. The Philistines are known to have been transplanted Minoans.

I can work with that....

Or, maybe the extinction of the dinosaurs event?

Is that when the Black Sea went from a freshwater lake, to a saltwater inland sea?

Agreeing with Chuck and Roy, yes, Gilgamesh and Noah thought it was happening to the whole world. Well, truth be told, it was their "whole world," and it sure got inundated. And agreeing with Roy further, archeologists are still finding sunken villages along the body of water's now-sunken shoreline. Does anybody know, was Gibraltar widened any due to that surge of waters from the Arctic, across the Atlantic, and into the Mediterranean?

Regarding Atlantis, I lean toward the theory that it was a huge, stabilized Mothership, which later took-off.

Now, THAT would really be something to witness. But I'm not sure where one would stand.

I'd want a Barcalounger recliner with cup holders for liquid refreshments so I could relax and enjoy the show.

Agreed. Does this time travel come with fast forward? It would be my precondition, to watch Leonardo work on the Mona Lisa.

Might as well go watch Mike to the Sistine Chapel,

It was done with egg tempura over fresh plaster - that dries nice and fast. OTOH, you could go watch Warhol do a soup can

I think Andrew Wyeth also used egg tempura. I like his stuff better than most. Excellent Michael Palin video on Wyeth:

Leonardo liked to take his time. He took decades, on some of his paintings. There was an interesting show on PBS about his Mona Lisa.

Leonardo didn't do many frescoes, because they didn't allow changes after the plaster set. His Last Supper was actually painted on a sealed wall.

Good idea! However, I'd more enjoy seeing Pope Julius come flaming-in to the chapel every once in a while, as big Mike worked, flowing soutane train and all. Drama babes.

Oh sure, with volcanoes and detritus being shot out of the impact crater all over the place, placing a worldwide layer of ash and particulate everywhere; plus multi-ton dinosaurs fleeing pell-mell and falling wounded everywhere. Good choice , you go sit there. Get a pizza brought to you, too.        :P

The premise was we could observe but not interact - nothing against being able to observe the carnage in comfort - is that the beverage cart I hear in the distance? Excellent! I'll have a nice chilled porter; thanks!
