Not all receive a pension. You need to serve 5 years.

Re: Mike Bloomberg
"60 Minutes", tonight, reported that he is the 9th richest person in the world and possessed of a 300billion dollar fortune (I think I got that # correct), a self-made rich man, since he was born to and lived a very Middle Class childhood.
When interviewed, he replied that he was the only candidate among all of them who had any management experience whatsoever. That is important, I agree.

Bloomberg is part of the 1%. The democrats detest these people. Why is that ?

Frankly, I cant imagine. He worked for his money, and continues to, with his intelligence, and the Middle Class works for their money. In fact, he was Middle Class for his entire earlier life. Shouldn't that be considered a connection? A positive?

If anything he represents that the American Dream exists and that success is possible. The rest of them are professional politicians.

Re: Mike Bloomberg
An excellent and fair minded point, Rufus.
Re: Mike Bloomberg
I'd like to see how much his wealth increased during his terms of NYC. mayor. My feeling is all these big money guys are just wacky. Entrepreneurship runs very close to bipolar disorders. Why would any person making millions a year want to take a job for 400,000 a year ?
I would rather see a guy making $50,000 a year take. somebody that needs the job. They might work harder for the money then.

Maybe he just feels that he can do the job?

It's stunning to read such a statement. I really don't think such a person is interested in becoming President for the income. Saying that is a bit limited as a viewpoint, INHO.
Re: Mike Bloomberg
When Obama was elected president he wasn't making a lot of money as a senator. $169,000 per year
Their net worth is now 40 million. Capitalism....Just follow the America Dream.
They just bought a $15 million dollar home on Martha's Vineyard and they own a $7 million dollar home in DC. I don't think they will be returning to Chicago.

I don’t see anyone stopping Bernie, Bloomberg got into the race to stop Sanders but is now serving as the "spoiler" to Biden's chances.
Steyer, Buttigieg and now Klobuchar have dropped out. Warren is the same as Sanders.

I think they all want to be prez. To satisfy some form if narcissism. Why else would somebody want the job?

I think that the only President that did not enhance their worth, uncommon for it to happen in fact, might have been Carter. Maybe you should look up the Bush holdings? Trump is making millions, and never divested of his holdings as he promised he would either.

Have you ever seen a President who did not fit this harsh cynical view?
Is there nobody you have ever considered to be non-narcissistic and worthy otherwise to have run for the office or won election ? This statement is more shockingly negative that the previous one.
Would YOU ever have the courage and fortitude to run for office - any office?
Being snarky by criticizing candidates doesn't take much, but being a candidate takes a whole lot.

Not in recent years and only a few times prior to actual election; afterwards years later, the facade wore thin.

Again, prior to taking office, a few. Carter was and is a good man; not a very good president, but historically we've had worse. Maybe a good man is not what the job requires....but more a good, able, competent staff supporting an otherwise flawed man (or woman).
Would YOU ever have the courage and fortitude to run for office - any office?
Any? Like being on 2 different Board of Directors for a non-profit? Have and still wonder if that was the result of a momentary lapse of reason. Public office - never.

It's always easier standing on the sidelines criticizing; might be the biggest sport of the country. Lots talk, but few act. That's why and how we are where we are today.
