Song of the year

Postby HONDO74 » Mon Jan 27, 2020 9:16 am

Since I don't watch TV and I am not into watching the look at me I'm so important awards shows. It's all over the internet this morning about who and what won the Grammy Awards.

I guess I'm really getting old because I just can't latch onto the Erotic Fantasies they call music.

Song of the year.
Billie Eilish - bad guy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyDfgMOUjCI

She received 4 awards.
song of the year, record of the year, album of the year and best new artist.

This is one of her other songs.
Billie Eilish - all the good girls go to hell
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PZsSWwc9xA

"the teenager has re-written the rules of pop over the last 12 months, creating ominous, unsettling songs that disrupt typical song structures and lure listeners down dark sonic avenues."

Her elder brother, Finneas O'Connell, also picked up producer of the year for his work on Eilish's album.

"We wrote an album about depression and suicidal thoughts and climate change and being a bad guy, whatever that means."

I've been working on caring and being interested in anything that gets on the Grammys for many years and find myself totally failing.

It's not that there is not new music that I can find to listen to - there's lots and it's very good, too.

It's just not what passes for popular and commercial anymore.

Going a little further with this.

Grammy Awards 2020: List of nominees and winners

Up for Album of the year
Lana Del Rey - Norman F***ing Rockwell!
One of the songs on this album. F*** it, I love you.

I expect to see crap like that from rap but not from some young girl.

I'm guessing that some of those older artist that were up for the awards that went home shacking their head.

The interesting thing is that the awards are voted on by other artists/musicians. What that says to me is that NARAS is being taken over by a bunch of no talent trash talking degenerates. It would interesting to get the take of some of the artists that actually have some real musical ability/talent.

She has 24.5 million youtube subscribers. That's one quarter of the people that watch a super bowl. Things is her people don't go away after 3 hours. They stay subscribers. She is an advertisers dream. Make an album and get 25 million email addresses and you'll win album of the year also.

"The times they are a changing" Dylan certainly had that right. I just don't understand today's youth.
