Re: Nice stuff
A man who saw the very pleasant young recipient of the shoes found that homeless man, and offered him a job on one of his food-trucks. We got to see the homeless shoes-recipient on the News tonight, on Channel 7, and he has a positive appearance and demeanor, perhaps, Hispanic.

the cynic in me says " it was all about getting free advertising for the food truck".

Yeah, I did notice - purely subjectively, o' course - that when interviewed, the employer/foodtruck owner didn't seem shy about facing the camera or explaining what he had done. At any rate (of cynicism,) the newly hired young man seemed motivated and inspired to accept these outreaches and move forward in a positive, productive way with his life. I hope that remains true. He seemed very nice.

Yes, Keeler started that at UDel a few years ago before they ousted him as coach there.
Another football player - JJ Watt who wanted to raise ~$200k after the hurricane in Huston......up to $41 million raised.

I heard this recently and liked it very much. It has become a personal mantra-motto-philosophy thingy:
Life is made beautiful by the other people who share it with us. Otherwise, it's just scenery.

Sometimes the scenery is the best part of the deal.

..and the least dangerous, now that you mention it. Those lurking Homies and Hoodies can ruin anything, even a walk-in-the-park.

Not so much where I live, but I do watch the News about NYC, and there is barely a day that does not include a stabbing, murder, robbery, mugging, shooting, or home-invasion by that ilk.

Well, probably you don't walk there from your home so I think your worries about what goes on in ridiculous population density area (cause & effect) should not deter you from getting out and about - saddle up your velociraptor and head on out to the store for a jar of calf's foot jelly
