That is Brian Peter George St John le Baptiste de la Salle Eno

Founding member of Roxy Music, countless solo albums, leader of ambient music & experimental, collaboration with a longer list of artists, and record producer/engineer. One of the few this is twice in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Still, though, hollow cheeks notwithstanding, if you want attitude, he is still beat by:
The short-cropped Redhead woman lead-singing The Eurythmics, Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This.)

Eno also did sound tracks for a lot of film that you've probably seen and never been aware of........some of the Apollo space flight documentaries, for example.

Annie was as tame as a glass of warm milk......compared to Eno, I have 1 album of Annie's; I have more than 30 of Eno's - I can listen to his collaboration with Robert Fripp "No Pussyfooting" just about any time. Probably will have it played at my funeral!

You enthusiasm is certainly laudable and duly noted. I'll go look them up among the next several days and try to find time to give them all a listen. Yet, I still wonder (in all subjectivity, on my part, of course) why among all those selections, no names or tunes leap to mind.

At any rate, finding out about them is likely going to be edifying and entertaining, all superior to my awfully subjective viewpoint about Annie vs that guy because I don't know if I ever heard any of that work, compared to hearing my favorites of hers. So, due to your good-offices, I'll be able to make an actual "judgement" (note quotation marks ) and not just sing the praises of one performer, having only heard her, apparently, thus producing my twaddle about them.

IMHO, the Lanois/Eno production duo made U2 what they were. Unforgettable Fire/Joshua Tree/Achtung Baby, then returning for All That You Can't Leave Behind, that was some great stuff. Lanois is incredibly skilled...I'm not a big Neil Young fan, but check out his Le Noise, produced by Lanois. Ol' Neil never sounded better.

The documentary film of U2 recording Joshua Tree with Eno is excellent. Bono singing out his heart and soul on Pride(in the name of love) and Eno a the end of the take asking him to put some feeling into next time.......as a joke.
