Bozo's Car for sale
Bozo's Car for sale
Yep, it really was owned by Bozo the Clown (Lawrence Weiss stage name Larry Harmon) until his death in 2008. Given to his mechanic, who is now selling it on an online auction site. Unlimited possibilities.

It would have to be black-light tested inside and out before I'd ever go near the thing.

One of those doors probably weighs more than my Sprite.

No doubt . I think they were one of the inspirations for the expression, "Land-yacht ." The power steering on such vehicles was wonderful. , suiting their purpose perfectly - they could be steered around corners with one finger, which was fun.

My FiL had one of those - like riding in a boat made of cushions full of whipped cream and handled like a total piece of crap.

Looking out the windshield as driver, with hands on a steering wheel nearly the size of a hoolah-hoop, the expanse of the hood was the largest I ever peered across, including my old '58 Cadillac deVille convertible . I felt more like a guest along-for-the-ride behind the wheel than the one allegedly in charge of what happened next in the excursion .

When I drove my FiL's, turning was like turning an ocean liner...........sailing in pudding

Yeah, early and mid year T-Birds were the same way. Dated a girl in high school whose mother had a 64 T-Bird and we got to take it to a school dance. As I can remember, It was the smoothest riding car I'd every been in and was more like steering a boat that driving a car and floated across any bumps....but it was fun and had a 390 engine which was a lot of fun.

I once had a 72 Chrysler Newport Custom whose front hood must have come from a scrapped aircraft carrier!

Re: Bozo's Car for sale
I can remember driving some of those car-tank-land-yachts, with my friends aboard (I always preferred 8+me), and when I would put my foot on the gas pedal and speedily slam it to the floor, the car would rear-up, literally, kind of rearing-back on its haunches, nose upward, like a horse, while making a particular roar from the engine. We could see the gas-gauge actually dip toward the empty direction, a bit. We assumed that meant the car was gulping-up gasoline at a pretty good rate, per second. Maybe we were right. I don't know, but I remember the roar and the rearing-up very clearly. We weren't particularly fond of going fast; it was that roar and its accompanying hood-ornament-upward, trunk-downward rearing-up attitude that we really liked. Although, I must admit, we did, on a couple occasions, go 110 and 120mph for a short stretch or two. We never told our parents about those shenanigans. And we never got caught by the police.

Another bozo tried to sell his car last week. This clown handed over the keys to a 2 million dollar Ferrari. Potential buyer left the owner standing by the roadway empty handed.

And then what happened? Never seen again? Trashed? Found?
