No ancient aliens? I am devastated.

The meteoric source of Egyptian iron is no longer conjecture or religious philosophy. It is pure scientific investigation.

I understood that and accept it, for the most part It's just that...well....maybe I have too much imagination and am too suggestible. Seriously. :D

Murph, Murph, Murph, April 1 is over. What are you doing? Do you actually believe the hoax you are passing on to us?

I'm not certain, one way or another. That is why I asked.

P.S. That piddly presentation by the Louvre, in your photo available on Wikipedia, purporting to be a representation of a chamber with a facsimile of one of the 100ton boxes in it, is nowhere near what was shown on the "History" program on TV, not in the size and refinement of the box and its lid, nor in its snug fit into the space. When I searched via Yahoo, the entry two stops down the page from Wikipedia's entry makes available many more photos, all more impressive in their images of the dimensions and housing of the real boxes, IMO, and makes the statement about the boxes and their site, "...which Egyptologists can not logically explain."

Pinterest has a whole collection of really definitive and interesting photos of the Serapeum, too.

So, I am looking for more explanation, for adventure and conversation and perhaps something new to learn. Viewpoints that are like my own or different from the tentative one I have on this topic are equally attractive, to me, in such a venture.

Maybe not ancient aliens, but I'm pretty convinced that there are quite a few aliens over on the OGR forum,

Now, now, let's not get tacky. Let's keep the cultural references in the realm of (supposed  ) science-fiction. Eh?

I stopped watching the History Channel due to the increasing number of reality shows and all the alien-related nonsense. It's not that I doubt the existence of other intelligent life out there. I am just not sold on their visitation here and certainly don't buy their involvement in virtually every aspect of our ancient history, as many of these shows suggest. At least the Military History Channel offers some of the programming I like, although it is slipping as well, relying on more CGI dogfight and battle footage, rather than simple factual presentation, in the quest to be more entertaining.

It is very good to hear from you, NJPiney, in this regard.
As must be obvious to you, what you have stated is the very reason I have been sharing some of these questions on MTJ, which has been to get a picture well beyond my own experiences and imagination.
Thanks for the input, indeed.

Don't get me wrong. I'm also not saying possibilities don't exist beyond the limits of my own imagination. But, having an education and working background in science, I tend to be very skeptical by nature, and look at the source of the theories that are presented to me, as well as any proof.

I stumbled upon a series of YouTube videos by a guy who fancies himself an expert on Mudfossils, particularly where they present alternate views of otherwise accepted human history. The specific video that caught my attention involved satellite views of saltmarshes only a few miles from where I live in New Jersey. The marshes are crisscrossed with closely spaced mosquito ditches, which are intended to improve water flow in the marsh and allow small fish species to more easily enter that habitat and feed on the mosquito eggs and larvae. Well, this nitwit determined from the satellite views that he single-handedly discovered the work of an ancient civilization, possibly alien in nature. The funny thing is you can view the same sites on aerial photos taken in the early 1930s, which are widely available online. There are no traces of these ditches on the older images, as that type of marsh management had only just started (with much of the labor provided by Civilian Conservation Corps workers, rather than by aliens). In the comment section, however, multiple individuals praised this guy for pointing out what our government must be trying to hide from us. Stuff like this often just destroys my faith in the human mind and intellect.

This should provide for some interesting conversation. :?:

Stephen Hawking's Most Provocative Moments, From Evil Aliens to Black Hole Wagers
https://news.nationalgeographic.com/201 ... s-science/

For his final paper, submitted to the Journal of High-Energy Physics just 10 days before his death and published this week, Hawking and colleague Thomas Hertog at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium propose a new theory about what happened in the aftermath of the big bang, and what that means for the existence of multiple universes existing alongside our own.

In his later years, Hawking repeatedly warned about the dangers of humankind meeting alien civilizations. In his 2010 documentary series Into the Universe with Stephen Hawking, he suggested that alien civilizations sufficiently advanced to visit Earth may be hostile.

“Such advanced aliens would perhaps become nomads, looking to conquer and colonize whatever planets they could reach,” he said. “Who knows what the limits would be?” And in the 2016 documentary Stephen Hawking’s Favorite Places, Hawking reiterated his views: “Meeting an advanced civilization could be like Native Americans encountering Columbus. That didn’t turn out so well.”

People like stories, possibly aware that they are utter horseshit. But they seem to want to hear the same ones over and over. And, the government has lied to us about essential stuff, like the Vietnam war, and testing weapons on it's own citizens. Once bitten, twice shy.

I don't particularly trust the government either. But that doesn't mean they are the keeper of every silly secret someone thinks exists. It boils down to this. A smart person approaches a question by wondering what the answer could be. A dumb person immediately claims to know the answer. Perhaps oversimplified, but I've found it holds true more often than not.
