Questions you shouldn't ask on train forum:

Why is radio control so expensive, and why can't I just buy a ten dollar RC truck at Toys-R-Us and gut it?

Followed two weeks later by why won't my trains go faster than a crawl, and what do I do to get it to back up?

Three speeds for ward and no reverse, what shall I do?

Or, why do all my engines derail at the top of my grade?

Answer 1: Because you are using .332 brass rail, you have an 8% grade, the rail won't easily vertically bend, so tends to bend at the joiner, and nobody puts a 4 foot diameter curve right at the top after the kink.

I could go on, but the danger with that is some of those folks who asked those questions may reside on MTJ.

I don't know that RFID means, but I can tell you that once I heard about the fob vulnerability aspect, I have been wrapping my fob in Reynolds-aluminum-type foil, and at times I put them in a metal eyeglasses case, which has also been effective.

RFID stands for “Radio Frequency Identification“.

Your car identifies the key fob through a radio signal.

My truck will not start if the key fob is in a metal can with an overlapping metal lid on. It will start with the fob in the can and the lid off. It will also start with the fob in one of the RFID Blocking billfolds shown in the photo below (the plastic rim on the metal leaks RF.)That's a pity. Guess I need to check mine.
One could go on ebay and purchase a "Prince Albert tobacco tin," meant to keep yore 'baccy fresh after opening. I have one around somewheres, courtesy of my long-departed grandfather.

Hey Murph, if you take a trip to Horseshoe Curve, and land there on a Saturday I'm not workin' or a Sunday, I'll meet ya there if ya let me know when. That's where I first hooked up with Pete & Hev, and Hev's wife Patty. That was back in '09. Hard to believe ten years have flown by. The Curve is only 100 miles from me. We did the Museum, the Curve, then we went up the mountain to Gallitzin to the little museum there in front of the tunnel. Old Pete called it a "Cornfield Meet". He's a character.

Several times a week. Last e-mail 20 minutes ago. I am apparently the official Standard Gauge Repair Person for the Gadsden Pacific now. Done three of theirs, one of his, two more coming..

Big argument over a $250 replacement motor block or all the parts for three locos (including one armature) for $95. I fixed them.

They were do freaking filthy took my solvent tank to clean the motor blocks up enough to see (followed by a Brakleen spray to kill the solvent). I could have used two bottles of lighter fluid and 200 q tips and not got as much garbage out.

Took three tries with pumice Goop hand cleaner to be able to see my fingers again.

Can you say "no maintenance ever"?

I have never seen motor blocks that bad before, in 55 years of doing 3 rail 0 stuff.

As we were packing up the 0, he mentioned he had been collecting SG stuff for some time. Now has benchwork down in his new house, track getting placed and wired. Using it to showcase his large die cast trucks and heavy equipment from the era.

He sands photos. Wants me to come down to Tuck Sahn and visit the Pima Air Museum.

Except I don't travel well any more. But hey, maybe.

Does anybody else have an opinion on this? Am I just being unnecessarily bitchy and stupid?

She was on CBS being interviewed this morning, so I was forced to be reminded of her, if just for the very few minutes I endured the interview. So, puzzled by my own aversion to her, I thought I'd visit here to see if I were being unfair or unusual in my revulsion toward her.

P. S. I'll be pondering your question the rest of today, and likely during next week. I need to do a whole lot of readjusting, and your question may be a key.
