Squirrel looks like it's on crack,
About 20 years ago I used to get cocoa bean hulls for mulching the one garden; smelled great and looked really good. Then I noticed that the squirrels were visiting it regularly and staggering around, and then falling off the one fence.....it was getting them high!

The owls may indeed not be what they seem but still serve an imperative function: they remind us to look into the darkness.

It was hilarious watching them fall off the fence! And, it was like watching a drunk trying to walk a straight line when they were on the ground.....and then they'd fall over....

Anybody that doesn't know the dangers of chocolate and associated materials and also owns a dog deserves the consequences. No dog in this house.
That it got squirrels high was something I did not know, but then few people keep pet squirrels.

Well, we had a Standard Poodle. She was no dummy, but she had a thing for eating the volcanic rock my father put in the rosebeds. Yes, we had to take her to the vet, to extract what she'd eaten.

I have around 5 squirrels at my house. Well fed. Corn and black oil sunflower seeds. I have this old cast aluminum BBQ that the Squirrels use in the winter and the birds use it in the spring and summer to raise their young in. This is on the upper deck just off my bedroom and the mother in laws living room.
I also put out bird seed. The squirrels leave it alone because they prefer the other. The big blue jays and cardinals like the sunflower seeds also and after the squirrels finishing munching on the corn there are lots of small pieces that the birds get to have. Quite a few doves come by for a snack.....

I have an oak tree out back that's way beyond my ability to reach around - more acorns and so more squirrels that we can count. Also have a decent sized hickory - more squirrels. We used to put out bird seed - squirrel literally ripped them apart and the only time they were discouraged was when the pileated woodpecker would visit. Hummingbirds like the canna blooms.......
