In a big box of stuff cleaned out of a railroad we took apart some time ago.
Sorting, storing, and found this.
Guy flew (United?) and did 0 stuff, and it's in a box of 0 shi....well..
About 3.5" long, 1.25" wide, 1" tall.

I keep thinkin' "reverb". Moving the lever lengthens and shortens the visible spring in the port.......and I know spring reverbs, but this ain't one of those.

I seem to remember seeing advertisements for a "B K Enterprises" or something similar in old Model Railroaders for the 1940's or so.

I thought BK made switches and crossovers?

Finally just took it apart. Hard to do. Machines cast bakelite, with metal threaded inserts pressed in...and decades of heat and vibration caused locked screws and loose inserts.

Heavy duty, adjustable flasher, or timer.
The adjustment arm set the speed.
Two big contacts with middle arm, so a NO and NC position.

Most likely he used it for grade crossing lights.

The same type of thing is a lot smaller today but probably wont last as long. Cool.
