I've posted this personal experience here so others would be warned/advised by my stupidity and make better decisions for themselves should such a calamity ever befall them.

Unfortunately, this is much more common than many know. Jack in the Box had a couple rounds with this. More recently, it was Baja Fresh. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if many on this board have suffered food poisoning. I've had it several times.
Actually, I thought the big recent episode was Chipotle, but it's a lot more common than most think.....and it shouldn't be at all in this country, but
people want cheap fast food and are willing to compromise on safety.
Actually, the restaurant that poisoned me was a favorite because of its tasty food and favorite dishes we had become accustomed to ordering.
My wife and I have no interest in "fast-food" establishments. Except for Dairy Queen.
It was a Sunday on which we had gone to the restaurant in mid-afternoon and enjoyed the food,, as usual. Prices are not a big concern of ours (though, I must admit, we did discontinue patronizing

one particular restaurant because they were charging $49 for a single steak.)

Flavor and variety and pleasant service and ambiance are priorities. Safety is implicit in our choices, which is why we were so surprised by what befell me. She didn't get sick. She had no salad.
The food was so enjoyable, that I decided to order a couple of their side-dishes - salads, one with chicken pieces in it - as Take-homes, for consumption later in the week. Sunday's meal there was digested normally. On that Monday, I ate the larger of the two salads, the one with the chicken bits, at mid-afternoon. By 7pm, I had to rush out of a meeting at our parish, leaving my wife to continue her meeting but find a ride home, and went home to expel a startling amount of swamp-green-sludge that was expelled out of both ends, almost nonstop. I had eaten nothing else that day but that salad.
By Tuesday, we had started to hear in the News about that Romaine lettuce alarm.
