This is actually a prototype for that NEC upgrade ROW-Mode we were promised. I look forward to riding it once in service.

That circle of single-rail reminded me of the origin of the term "train your guns", as in "the fort trained her guns on the approaching ship". Large cannons were often supported on wheels that road on a circle of single railroad rail. Other rail was often used but the similarity to the wheels and rail of a railroad train was still there. The guns were aimed (trained) by rolling the cannon on the rail around the circle. Here are some examples:

These and other examples can be seen by doing an internet image search for "large fort cannons" or similar.

In some defense and scientific circles, what is more commonly called the "azimuth" axis for a large pedestal is still sometimes called the train axis.

One can only wonder about the ancillary equipment required to keep it upright when not in use and to power up the gyro.
You begin flying with a full bag of luck and an empty bag for experience. The object is to fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of luck.
